Idolator Sol is one of the many bosses you will encounter during your main campaign playthrough in Borderlands 4. This boss is a giant dressed in big bio-armor and has a variety of attack patterns. Before dealing any real damage to him, you will need to first disarm him using various strategies. The tougher the boss, the more rewarding, as you get to claim one of seven different legendary drops after defeating him.

In this article, we will look at how to complete the Idolator Sol boss battle and the rewards you can expect from it.

To begin the Idolator Sol boss battle in Borderlands 4, you will need to progress till you reach the ‘Rush The Gate’ mission in the main campaign. This is located at Fortress Indomita in Idolator’s Noose in the region of Fadefields.

One of the primary things you need to do in this battle is disarm Idolator Sol by stripping him of his bio-armor. Only then will three critical-point green blobs appear underneath it. Attacking those will deplete his health. During the battle, the boss will fire a series of multiple rods, including a green one, at you.

After dodging these, you can grab onto the green rod and throw it back at him. This will temporarily disable the armor, exposing the green blobs on either his shoulders or legs. Take this opportunity and shoot at them. You will continue this loop till you drain off his health completely.

Some other attacks you should dodge include him tossing chunks of his armor like projectiles and energy laser beams. Apart from that, the boss will also resort to some close-range attacks, where he will attempt a running shield bash. Lastly, avoid his spinning sword slashes. These trigger the moment you hurl the green rods back at him, causing him to attack with blind fury.

As soon as or whenever you wish to, you can replay the boss battle and claim some of the other legendary drops. To be able to do this, you will need to look for Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine in the mission area.

After paying the asking fee, the mission will begin. Each time you do this, the fee will slightly increase. If the battle begins to feel overwhelming, consider keeping some of the enemies alive. If you are to go down at any point during the battle, shooting and eliminating an enemy will activate the Second Wind feature to grant you a second chance at the battle.
