Everything you need to know about the Omega Lens in Monster Hunter Wilds, and how to easily obtain and farm it from Omega Planetes.

Omega Planetes is easily the toughest monster you will face in Monster Hunter Wilds’ endgame. However, even more difficult than killing the monster is getting the necessary resources to craft its gear. Much like the Title Update 2 (TU2) monsters, i.e., Lagiacrus and Seregios, Omega Planetes’ drop rates are adjusted for endgame. This means you cannot get all the necessary monster parts in just a few hunts.
This is especially true for parts like Omega Nodule, Omega Axle, and Omega Lens. The Omega Lens, in particular, is almost impossible to get unless you target a very specific part of the monster. Here’s everything you need to know about Omega Lens in Monster Hunter Wilds, and how to obtain it.

How To Obtain Omega Lens in Monster Hunter Wilds?

Omega Lens is obtained as a quest completion reward. However, the drop rate for the resource is quite low. That said, much like the Omega Axle, there’s a guaranteed way to get Omega Lens, that is, by breaking the monster’s head. If you manage to break the circular part right in front of Omega Planetes, it will give you the Lens almost immediately. However, breaking Omega’s head is much easier said than done.
Omega is already one of the toughest monsters. However, you can somewhat “cheese” the monster by staying close to its hind legs and breaking its armor. That said, if you want to break its head, you will have to leave the safety of the hind legs. Targeting Omega’s head means you will be in constant danger of taking the monster’s enmity.
Furthermore, Omega tends to use its most powerful attacks on whoever it gains enmity with. As such, you might have to resort to a “tank build” just to get enough Lenses to craft the Omega armor and weapons. However, there’s another way to easily farm Omega Lens, i.e., using the right Support Hunters.

How To Easily Break Omega’s Head?

Ideally, breaking Omega’s head requires inflicting ample wounds and Focus Strikes. However, if you aren’t comfortable taking the monster’s enmity, you can leave the job to Alessa, i.e., the Lance Support Hunter. Alessa does an incredibly good job at keeping Omega’s enmity and staying close to its head at all times. Furthermore, she can also break Omega’s head quite easily.
In addition to that, you can also chime in periodically to dish out extra damage on Omega’s head, especially when Alessa drops a shield close to the monster. Lastly, you can also drop debris (littered across the battlefields) on Omega to break its head and back. All this will make farming Omega Lens much easier.
Also, these techniques work for both regular and Savage Omega Planetes.
