Discover how to play 1v1 matches in 2XKO, including local, private, and public lobby options with friends or random players.

Set in the world of League of Legends, 2XKO focuses on its tag team 2v2 matches. However, that does not mean you require a second player on your team. You can play 1v1 matches in 2XKO while the tag team format remains the same, with each player having control over both their fighters. You can tag to switch between the fighters, call in assists, and chain powerful combos while managing both their health bars.
Currently, there is no game mode where two champions (characters) can face off against each other in a true one-on-one battle. Even when fighting solo, you have to choose two characters in the duos format. Refer to our guide to start local or online matches when playing without a teammate.
2XKO: How To Play 1v1 Matches

There are three options to play 1v1 matches in 2XKO:
- Local Versus (Offline)
- Private Lobby
- Public Lobby
Local Versus
To play a 1v1 offline couch match with a friend:
- Choose Versus from the main menu.
- Connect another controller for player 2 and press Start to join.
- Pick duos for both players.
- Select match rules, including stage, rounds, and timer if needed.
- Start the match.
Both players will control two fighters each and can switch between them by using the tag button during the match.
Private Lobby
To play with a friend online in a 1v1 match, host the game in a private lobby.
- Choose Play > Private from the main menu.
- Create a lobby and enter a lobby ID.
- Share the lobby ID with your friend and have them join your lobby using it.
- Ensure you’re on opposing teams, not paired as a tag duo. If you are in the same team, select your friend’s profile and choose Leave Partner.
- Press the interact button on your friend’s avatar and choose Challenge to head to the cabinet and start a match.

Public Lobby
Play through the public lobby to fight 1v1 against a random opponent online.
- Select Play > Casual to enter a public lobby.
- Approach any player’s avatar, interact with them, and select Challenge.
- If they accept, you will both start a match, controlling your respective duo of fighters.
You can also find quicker matches in public lobbies by using the Find a Match button. When you find a match, the cabinet flashes yellow, and you must reach it and select Join Cabinet within 30 seconds. Failing to do so drops you from the queue.
