The True Bankai requirements consist of a series of long quests in Type Soul. You must complete several tasks, visit different areas, and go through the layers of Hell. While it may sound tedious and time-consuming, acquiring this will benefit you in the long run. Your attacks can be amplified, helping you defeat your enemies much faster.

Every Requirement To Acquire True Bankai in Type Soul
To begin your journey to getting your True Bankai, you must first find Qas J. Ward. This NPC stands in front of gates with an ominous design full of human skulls. Speak to this NPC, and they will open the gates, leading you to the Highway in Hell. From there, you must complete a series of quests to progress.
Highway Quests
Upon your arrival, you will find another NPC with a unique design. They have a hellish look that makes them stand out from the crowd. Approach this NPC, and they will ask you to find four shards. The shards are scattered all over the area, which is infested with overpowered enemies. Once you find all the shards, return to the NPC.
They will be thrilled to know you found all four and will then ask for your time to play hide and seek. This section will lead you to the next area, where you will face a boss. You will then encounter the Weakened Gate Guardian, and as the name implies, this isn’t the toughest challenge. After the fight, you will receive Book Fragment 1.
Ring 1
After defeating the guardian, you will move to the first ring. These are all the objectives in this ring:
- Defeat 120 Hell NPCs for Tiger Sozosei.
- Defeat the boss with allies.
Once these are complete, you and your allies can continue. You and your allies will receive Book Fragment 2 as a reward.
Ring 2
There is no shortage of boss battles when acquiring your True Bankai. These are all the bosses you will face in this ring:
- Hitosozu of the Wind
- Hiragana
Defeating these bosses will grant you Book Fragments 3 and 4, along with a Cracked Medallion. The next main objective is to repair the broken medallion, which will also unlock your True Shikai and Schrift.
Ring 3
The next boss you defeat will reward you with Book Fragment 5, after which you will make your way to the maze. This is a tricky area to navigate, especially since there is a roaming Maze Girl that can damage you with her gaze. At the end of the maze, you will find yourself in a library.
There are five books tied to progression, and you can follow this order to get through:
- I Believe in my Fist
- My Power is Absolute
- I Worship the King
- The Blade is Me
- My Soul Never Wavers
The final step is arguably the most time-consuming: spend five to thirty hours in the AFK world. Once you have spent enough time there, an ominous message will appear, and another player must take you out to unlock your True Bankai.
