Pokemon Legends Z-A has a unique blend of starters, with Chikorita and Totodile from Generation II and Tepig from Generation V. Starter Pokemon are generally rarer, and you often need to beat the game in order to have a chance at getting more of them. The Hoenn starters, Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip, are often considered one of the best ones to exist. As such, you might wonder if these Hoenn starters will be available in Pokemon Legends Z-A.

Pokemon Legends Z-A does not have the Hoenn starters currently, as reported by CentroLeaks. According to these leaks, some person has already beaten the game and they have not found any of the Hoenn starters at all.
Each of the Hoenn starters, Treecko, Torchic, and Mudkip, can become very strong in the end-game. Their final evolutions also have their own Mega Evolutions, that released with Pokemon X and Y. Mega Sceptile, Mega Blaziken, and Mega Swampert are all exceptionally strong critters that can easily find a spot in competitive teams.
Will Hoenn Starters Eventually Be In Pokemon Legends Z-A?
In all likelihood, the Hoenn starters will eventually be added to Pokemon Legends Z-A at a later date. The list of all items in Pokemon Legends Z-A is already available, and they contain these three key objects:
- ITEMID_RAGURAAZINAITO
- ITEMID_ZYUKAINNAITO
- ITEMID_BASYAAMONAITO
These items are the Japanese names for Sceptilite, Swampertite, and Blazikenite. Since the Mega Stones for Sceptile, Swampert, and Blaziken already exist in Pokemon Legends Z-A item list, it is likely that they will be available later. These can either be DLC additions, or something that you might be able to obtain via events or special rewards. Either way, the Hoenn starters future addition to Pokemon Legends Z-A is highly likely owing to these item inclusions.
