Fishing is a peaceful side activity in Blue Protocol Star Resonance that allows you to earn resources without spending Focus. The activity requires special gear, such as fishing poles and bait. Moreover, they can only be performed at designated fishing spots. While fishing differs from Life Skills, it interacts with them by supplying fish as a resource for Culinary, Alchemy, and Botany Life Skills.

How To Unlock Fishing in Blue Protocol Star Resonance

You can unlock fishing in Blue Protocol Star Resonance by starting the Invitation from the Fishing Guild side quest, which becomes available following the Fireworks Fantasy Night main story quest. After beginning the fishing side quest, head to Asterleeds and speak with the Fishing Guild Member located north of the Celestine Plaza teleport point.

Invitation from the Fishing Guild Quest Guide

The Fishing Guild Member will give you a Regular Pole and five pieces of Beginner’s Bait. Your objective is to catch an Asterscad using these tools. Run to the Yacht Harbor, and a fishing tutorial will play as soon as you approach the water. Once you complete the tutorial and catch an Asterscad, return to the Fishing Guild Member and interact with them to complete the quest and receive the following rewards:

  • Regular Bait x5
  • Precise Bait x5
  • Luno (Bound) x300
  • Adventurer EXP x30,000

With the Invitation from the Fishing Guild quest complete, you will unlock the Fishing feature in Blue Protocol Star Resonance.

In Blue Protocol Star Resonance, you can only begin the fishing side activity at Fishing Spots. Fishing Spots are marked by a fish symbol on the map and are located near the water, generally on piers.

When you approach them, they appear as pulsing white orbs. Interact (F) with Fishing spots to start the fishing activity.  From the initial HUD, you can access multiple menus or start fishing.

  • Press “V” to open the Fishing menu
    • Archive: Lists all the fish you can catch in the available Fishing Spots discovered.
    • Research: You can research each variety of fish to increase the chances of catching a higher-rated fish of the same variety.
    • Store: Purchase fishing poles and bait.
  • Press “M” to choose a fishing pole.
  • Press “N” to select the type of bait you are using by default.

How To Catch a Fish

Once you have selected your fishing pole and bait, press “F” to cast and begin fishing. After the bobber goes underwater, an exclamation mark (!) will appear above it. Press left-click as soon as the exclamation mark appears to begin reeling in the catch.

Reeling in the Catch

A tension meter will appear at the bottom when reeling begins. Press left-click to increase the tension and reel in the fish. When the fish icon on the meter reaches the far left, you will catch the fish. Here are some tips to keep in mind:

  • Match the fishing pole’s direction with the “A” and “D” keys. There are three zones a fish can be in: Left, Right, and Center. If the fish moves to the right, press “D” to bring your fishing rod to the Right zone to match the fish’s position.
  • If your tension meter remains full for too long, the fishing line will break and you will lose the fish. Match the fish’s direction with your pole quickly to prevent this from happening.
  • You can use the Boon Fountain Production Blessing to increase the number of fish you can catch by 1 for 24 hours.
