Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition arguably looks the best within the Little Nightmares series. It is built using the Unreal Engine 4 and has support for ray tracing. The overall image quality at 4K looks stunning, encompassing reflections, water drops, level design, and atmosphere.

However, the game is not perfect and has performance issues that stem from enabling RT. And to suffice, you will require powerful hardware to run this game at 4K. The settings below optimize the game and maintain a balance between frame rate and performance.

Note: The recommended GPU power starts at least an RTX 4080 Super or an AMD RX 9070 XT and beyond. Using RT drastically reduces FPS, so if you require a higher frame rate, consider disabling RT based on your GPU’s power.

The game looks stunning with the settings below and has almost no issues. Upscaling isn’t necessary with our recommended hardware pairing, as the look and feel at 4K isn’t worth the sacrifice. Regarding upscaling, FSR is the only available option, and using it on Nvidia hardware will result in a soft and blurry image.

The developers have done a fantastic job with the rasterization work. Reflections are pre-baked, the lighting looks nearly the same without RT, and the game plays exceptionally well. So, if you’re looking to disable RT, the image difference won’t be that significant. That said, you can use these settings as a starting point and adjust accordingly.
