Track and locate Gems in Blue Protocol Star Resonance using the Gemology Life Skill, for various applications.
Gemology is one of the nine Life Skills you can unlock and learn in Blue Protocol Star Resonance. The Life Skills come in two categories: one focuses on crafting items, and the other helps in locating materials needed for crafting. Gemology falls into the latter category, with its main purpose centered on sourcing gems for crafting or finding materials for other Life Skills.
In this article, we will look at how the Gemology Life Skill works in Blue Protocol Star Resonance.
Gemology Overview in Blue Protocol Star Resonance
After you unlock Gemology from the main Life Skill Menu page, a side quest called About Gemology will trigger, which will have you meet Safiya, the Gemology instructor. Here, you will learn all about this Life Skill and how to locate gems.
In Blue Protocol Star Resonance, there are four types of gems: Ruby, Sapphire, Topaz, and Emerald. When you use Focus on these gems, you will acquire their Starlight versions. The higher the level of the Starlight gems, the fewer you will be able to gather, but they will be more valuable for gear enhancement purposes. The table below shows the list.

You can use these Starlight gems later for selling in the Trading Center and receive some Luno (Unbound) in exchange. Another practical use for these gems is in the Gemcrafting Life Skill. Using Gemcrafting, you can create embedments that can later be added to your gear to enhance its abilities. You can refer to the link below to learn how to do that.

If you do not use Focus to search for gems, you will receive the base versions instead of the Starlight ones. These have their own advantages, as you can use them to create equipment or materials needed for the Alchemy Life Skill.
How To Locate Gems with Gemology
To locate gems using the Gemology Life Skill, follow the steps below.
- Press ‘Esc’ and open the Player Menu.
- Click on ‘Life Skill’ and from the new page select Gemology.
- Choose whichever Gem you wish to locate and select ‘Track’.
- You will then be given the location for the gem.
Gemology Mastery
You can level up the mastery of the Gemology Life Skill. This will result in finding higher-quality gems during exploration. There are three mastery levels for each gem: Novice, Pro, and Master.
