Gamers expressed their surprise to see a new GTA Online ad trailer that seemed to include a tongue-in-cheek reference to the GTA 6 delay.

Rockstar Games surprisingly dropped a new GTA Online ad trailer that had fans talking about GTA 6. The trailer piqued the curiosity of fans, considering the live service title is already around 12 years old. Community discussions surfaced about how this new trailer was a way to introduce the game to new players while they waited for the release of GTA 6. Eventually, the trailer got delisted on YouTube. This led to fans asking what the point of the trailer was.

Rockstar Sparks GTA 6 Community Discussions After Releasing New GTA Online Ad
The new ad trailer for GTA Online was posted back on October 13, 2025, through the official YouTube channel of Rockstar Games UK & Ireland. The trailer lasts about a minute and showcases various content in the game. This includes the free $4 million in-game cash you will get through the Career Builder. This bonus is only available through PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and the GTA 5 Enhanced Edition on PC.
The trailer description reads as follows:
“Rise from street-level hustler to kingpin of your own empire in this dynamic and ever-evolving online. Get GTA$4,000,000 in the Career Builder to establish your criminal enterprise now.”
It looks like the first sentence is cut short. The Twitter post had a longer caption than the YouTube video. On the surface level, it’s just a regular GTA Online trailer. However, a brief quote from the trailer’s narrator, Dr. Friedlander, sparked curiosity among fans.
“I’m afraid our time isn’t up yet.”
Community discussions believe that Rockstar Games is subtly poking fun at the GTA 6 delay. This means GTA Online is not going anywhere anytime soon. It’s a move that feels very on-brand for Rockstar. The publisher frequently makes tongue-in-cheek jokes and clever nods to its own fanbase on various media.

“Can’t wait to play this new game”
Most comments made jokes about how they are tired of playing GTA Online for 12 years and are still waiting for GTA 6 to come out.

Needless to say, fans aren’t taking the trailer too seriously. Instead, they’re having fun with the idea that GTA Online might never truly end. At least, not until GTA 6 finally arrives.
