Mega Absol is the first Rogue Mega Evolution you have to deal with in Pokemon Legends Z-A. This is part of the “Chase That Mysterious Pokemon” mission, where Zygarde leads you to an Absol that’s in pain. We see why it’s in pain as it Mega Evolves. So it’s up to us to save this Absol from itself, and this guide will tell you exactly how to do that.
How To Defeat Rogue Mega Absol in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Mega Absol: Stats, Weaknesses, and Resistances
These are Mega Absol’s base stats:
- HP: 65
- Attack: 150
- Defense: 60
- Special Attack: 115
- Special Defense: 60
- Speed: 115
Mega Absol takes super effective damage from the following types:
- Bug
- Fairy
- Fighting
These are the types it resists:
- Ghost
- Dark
These are the types it’s immune to:
- Psychic
Attacks Used By Rogue Mega Absol
This Mega Absol is fought at Level 25. It will charge up and use an AoE (Area of Effect) attack that you will have to dodge. If you run away from that attack, Lucario will do so as well. This AoE attack increases its range further when Mega Absol is at 50% health.
When its HP is extremely low, that’s when it starts using its largest AoE attack, which almost reaches the end of the battlefield. Make sure to position yourself and your Pokemon in the right place so as to not get caught up in its attack.
Best Pokemon To Defeat Rogue Mega Absol in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Luckily against this Rogue Mega Evolution, AZ has got our back. His Lucario is here to help out against Rogue Mega Absol and is the only Pokemon you are allowed to use in this battle. And it can also Mega Evolve.
Moves used by AZ’s Lucario:
- Rock Smash: Fighting STAB that deals super effective damage to a Dark-type like Mega Absol. It also has a chance to lower its Defense stat.
- Protect: Lowers the damage that Lucario takes from Mega Absol’s attacks.
- Bullet Punch: Fast priority Steel-type STAB move to deal quick damage.
- Aura Sphere: Powerful ranged Special Fighting STAB. Useful if you need Lucario to attack from a distance.
How To Mega Evolve Your Pokemon
In order to Mega Evolve your Pokemon, you will have to collect the Mega Power orbs that are coming off of Mega Absol. This will scatter more often when Lucario attacks Absol. Once the meter on the bottom right is full, Lucario can Mega Evolve. This will put you on a more equal footing with Mega Absol.
Keep using the same tactics as before, except now you deal more damage. However, the Mega Power meter will continuously drop, so keep collecting orbs. Once you defeat the Rogue Mega Absol, you will earn the Absolite. And the wild Absol decides to join your party out of gratitude. This gives you your own Mega Pokemon to use against further Mega Evolutions.
