Rogue Mega Tyranitar in Pokemon Legends Z-A is one of the Rogue Mega Evolutions in the game. These are wild Pokemon that have undergone Mega Evolution without a trainer. They tend to be much stronger than their standard wild variants. You’ll need to be highly powerful and strategic to deal with all such Pokemon, especially the Rogue Mega Tyranitar. You’ll come across this one while exploring the Jaune District, which is to the northeast of Restaurant Le Wow. How To Defeat Rogue Mega Tyranitar in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Mega Tyranitar: Stats, Weaknesses, and Resistances
The following are the base stats for the Mega Tyranitar:
- HP: 100
- Attack: 164
- Defense: 150
- Special Attack: 95
- Special Defense: 120
- Speed: 71
The following attack types cause increased damage to the Pokemon:
- Fighting
- Water
- Grass
- Ground
- Bug
- Steel
- Fairy
The Mega Tyranitar resists the following types:

- Flying
- Ghost

Attacks Used By Rogue Mega Tyranitar
The Rogue Mega Tyranitar in Pokemon Legends Z-A is at level 59. You should be somewhere around level 59 and 65 yourself before you begin the fight with this Pokemon. At lower levels, the battle tends to be much more challenging and you’ll have to exploit every weakness to win. Besides matching its level, you should also know about its attack types.
- Rock Slide: The Pokemon roars and causes rocks to rain down from overhead. Keep moving and avoid the rocks based on the shadows that appear on the ground just before they hit.
- Crunch: A set of jaws will try to crunch your Pokemon or you. Stay to the side of Mega Tyranitar or behind it to avoid these attacks.
- Sand Tombs: Sand whirlwinds appear around the arena, which can suck you and your Pokemon in if you aren’t careful.
- Stone Spires: After a point, Mega Tyranitar will repeatedly stomp on the ground, causing stone spires to pop out at several parts of the arena. Make sure you move away from the portions on the ground that seem to bubble, just before a spire breaks out.
- Giga Impact: This is a one-hit kill attack where the rogue Pokemon will begin to glow before running toward you to slam its foot down. Avoid this attack at all costs.

Best Pokemon To Defeat Rogue Mega Tyranitar in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Fortunately, you won’t need to fight Mega Tyranitar alone, as Naveen and his Scrafty will help you take the powerful Pokemon down. You should also take Mega Tyranitar’s weaknesses into account when building your team for the fight. We suggest opting for Grass, Water, Ground, Fighting, Bug, Steel, and Fairy-types to ensure maximum damage output from your end. You can Mega Evolve your Pokemon when your Mega Ring’s bar is full. We recommend doing this if you’re battling Mega Tyranitar at a lower level. However, if you’re at the same level or higher, you can also use the Mega Ring’s charge to power Plus moves instead of mega evolving.
How To Mega Evolve Your Pokemon
If you’re looking to Mega Evolve your Pokemon in the middle of the battle, you’ll have to collect the Mega Power orbs that drop from Mega Tyranitar. So, keep collecting these orbs while your Pokemon and Naveen’s Scrafty keep up the attack. If you collect enough of them, you should see the Mega Evolve meter on the bottom right hand corner of the screen fill up completely. Now, your Pokemon will deal significantly more damage, but the charge on the Mega Evolve meter will keep dropping. So, make sure you continue collecting the orbs across the arena.
After defeating Mega Tyranitar, you’ll receive a Tyranitarite. You can use this Mega Stone to Mega Evolve your Tyranitar in the heat of battle.
