Learn how to complete A Berry Clever Plan quest in Pokemon Legends Z-A, battle Ticien, and earn Oran Berries and rewards.
A Berry Clever Plan is a quick and fun battle-focused side quest that lets you test how well you handle Berries in fights. You can start this quest by finding Ticien in Jaune Sector 12 inside the Jaune District. He waits in the battle court located in Wild Zone 6, which unlocks once you finish Main Mission 6.
There are a few easy ways to get there. You can head north from Jaune Sector 11, cross the bridge from the south, or use fast travel if you have unlocked Cafe Bataille. Another option is to take the holovator on North Boulevard, climb the nearby building, move over the roof, and drop down near the court.
Once you talk to Ticien, he will tell you about his clever idea of giving his Pokemon Berries to hold. Accept his challenge to start the battle and see if his plan really works.
How To Finish A Berry Clever Plan Quest in Pokemon Legends Z-A
The battle is simple but requires smart type choices. Ticien uses two level 22 Pokemon: Swablu and Meditite, both holding Oran Berries. These Berries heal 10 HP when their health falls below half, giving his team a small boost during the fight.
Swablu is a Normal and Flying-type, so Electric-, Ice-, and Rock-types are your best picks. Try using Pokemon like Flaaffy, Pikachu, or Graveler to bring it down quickly. Meditite is a Fighting- and Psychic-type, which means Flying-, Ghost-, or Fairy-types work great against it. Pidgeotto, Fletchinder, or Misdreavus are all solid choices for this part of the match.
If you want to play smart, give your own Pokemon Oran Berries or Sitrus Berries before the fight. Oran Berries heal 10 HP, while Sitrus Berries restore 25% of total HP when your Pokemon drops below half health. That extra recovery can easily turn the battle in your favor.
Once you beat both of Ticien’s Pokemon, the quest will end. He will admit that your plan worked better than his.
A Berry Clever Plan Quest Rewards in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Winning the A Berry Clever Plan quest gives you a nice little reward. You will get 900 Pokedollars, 10 Oran Berries, and 2 Exp. Candy XS. You can use Oran Berries as held items or feed them directly to heal Pokemon. Exp. Candy XS gives a small experience boost, which helps level up your newer team members.
