Pidgeotto is a Generation One Pokemon which can be good for the early-game of Legends Z-A with the best moveset and nature.

If you want a reliable Flying type Pokemon on your team in Legends Z-A, then the Kanto regional bird, Pidgeotto would not be a bad choice. You can get Pidgey quite early to evolve into Pidgeotto, and also learn some good moves along the way.
Here is a good moveset and nature for Pidgeotto.
Best Pidgeotto Moveset in Pokemon Legends Z-A

These are the best moves to have on your Pidgeotto:
- Aerial Ace
- Wing Attack
- Gust
- Quick Attack
Aerial Ace is found as a TM in Wild Zone 3 very quickly. This should be your priority to obtain. Aerial Ace is a 60 power move, with an extremely fast animation. Most of the time, this will be enough to knockout enemy trainers if you ambush them.
Apart from this Wing Attack is another physical Flying type attack. Quick Attack exists to get off another speedy attack in case Aerial Ace is not off of cooldown. Lastly, Gust is just to round out the list with another Flying type attack. You can replace Gust on this list with any other move which you prefer, perhaps from some TM.
Best Pidgeotto Nature in Pokemon Legends Z-A
There are multiple good Natures you can apply on Pidgeotto. Preferably, you will want a Nature which boosts your Attack. However, even if you don’t start with a good nature, you can change the nature later on using Nature Mints. These include:
- Adamant
- Lonely
- Naughty
Since the only Special Attack scaling move for Pidgeotto used here is Gust, Attack is by far the more important stat. Still, your choice should be to get Lonely or Naughty. However, if you do get Adamant, you can easily roll with it.
In fact, some might prefer some Defense and Special Defense on their Pidgeotto just so that it can last in battle longer.
Pidgeotto Stats and Location

To get Pidgeotto you have two ways. You can first acquire Pidgey at Wild Zone 1, and many roofs across Lumiose City. Pidgey can be evolved into Pidgeotto starting at level 18. However, if you want to catch Pidgeotto, this can also be done on the rooftops of Lumiose, or at Wild Zone 5.
Pidgeotto’s stats are as follows:
- HP: 63
- Attack: 60
- Defense: 55
- Special Attack: 50
- Special Defense: 50
- Speed: 71
The Base Stat Total (BST) for Pidgeotto is 349. This is on the lower side, but within expectations. Most Pokemon you will be fighting early on will not be evolved either. This will ensure that Pidgeotto is still able to stand its ground against most trainers or wild Pokemon.
