Since Rogue Mega Venusaur is a Level 53 boss, you also have to be at Level 53 if you hope to have a fair fight. Once you meet the boss at its level, you then need to watch for the following attacks:
- Bullet Seed: Venusaur will spit out bullet seeds from its mouth. Start running sideways as soon as you see the prompt on the screen.
- Beam Attack: The boss will stay still for 5 seconds and charge up in a pink aura. As soon as the charge-up completes, it will launch a devastating beam right at you. You have to run sideways across the circumference of the arena to avoid this. Do not stop because Venusaur will track you with its beam.
- Brambles: Venusaur will toss Brambles into the arena. Destroy them quickly because if you let them stay, Venusaur will use them to heal.
- Power Whip: The boss uses vines to attack you at close range.
Beating Venusaur requires you to identify its main moves. The Brambles and Beam Attack are the main culprits that make the fight difficult. Exploit the boss’s weakness to deal damage, and when you do enough, it will toss out Brambles. As soon as it does, abandon your strategy and focus on destroying the Brambles. It will use the Brambles to heal, so letting them stay untouched will only prolong the fight.
As far as the beam goes, many players don’t expect it to track, leading to situations where they think they’ve escaped only to find themselves blasted. Stay on the move and use the downtime between attacks to chip away at the HP and win.
