Learn how to use Zygarde and its new Mega in the Pokemon Legends Z-A competitive scene with information about its moveset and nature.

In Pokemon Legends Z-A, Zygarde plays a key role in the plot. At the climax of the story, Zygarde unleashes its new Mega Evolution to stop Ange. Once that’s dealt with, you can battle and catch Zygarde after the main story is over in the post-game. So in this article, let’s see how to use Zygarde and its Mega to its full potential.
Best Zygarde Moveset in Pokemon Legends Z-A

These are the moves you want to use on your Zygarde, especially if you are looking to Mega Evolve it later.
- Core Enforcer (Nihil Light when Mega Evolved)
- Earth Power
- Focus Blast
- Glare
Zygarde will naturally learn Glare and Core Enforcer as a part of its level-up learnset. TM52 for Earth Power, which is the best Special Ground-type move that Zygarde can learn, can be found on a roof in Wild Zone 15. Finally, the TM102 for Focus Blast, which serves as coverage, is rewarded by Mable at Research Level 44.
Keep in mind that this moveset has been constructed with the intention of Mega Evolving Zygarde. The reason this matters is that Zygarde is usually a physical attacker. However, upon Mega Evolution, Mega Zygarde gets a massive Special Attack stat of 216. This is the highest Special Attack stat of any Pokemon in existence so far. As such, it’s worth investing in its Mega Evolution despite the drastic difference from its base form.
As for the Zygardite, you get it at the end of main mission 10, “The Secrets of Mega Evolution.”
Best Zygarde Nature in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Running a Timid (+Spe, -Atk) nature should suffice. As Zygarde’s Special Attack stat is already high, it does not need a Modest (+SpA, -Atk) nature. As such it can invest in Speed instead.
If you don’t catch a Zygarde with a Timid nature, you can get a Timid Mint from a vendor at Vert Sector 6.
Zygarde Stats and Location

You will be able to catch Zygarde in Wild Zone 20 in the post-game. However, before that, you will need to catch both Xerneas and Yveltal. After that, and a battle with L in front of Hotel Z, Zygarde will be waiting for you in Wild Zone 20 in its 10% form.
This is a difficult fight, having to face off against 10%, 50%, and 100% Level 84 Zygarde at different stages. However, it’s a guaranteed catc,h so that makes it a bit better.
