Ninja Gaiden 4 is an incredible achievement on consoles, offering 120 fps gameplay, with minimal compromises to visuals. However, on PC, the isn’t nearly as polished as it should be. While the game is nowhere close to being as broken as PlatinumGames’ previous PC efforts like Nier: Automata, it’s still far from being perfect. The biggest issues with the game is its abrupt frame-pacing.

Although Ninja Gaiden 4 has a rather stable frame rate, it delivers said frames in an uneven manner, especially in cutscenes. The issue is somewhat similar to the original Dark Souls’ PC port or even Bloodborne on the PS4. That said, with some tweaks to the graphics settings, you can minimize this issue. That said, here’s a comprehensive PC optimization guide for Ninja Gaiden 4.

Anti-Aliasing and Upscaling

In the release build of Ninja Gaiden 4, there seems to be an issue with upscaling and AA. Essentially, the game defaults to FSR (3) right out of the box, even if you have a Nvidia RTX GPU. However, you can choose to use DLSS instead, albeit with a major caveat. If you choose DLSS, you won’t get the option to select a preset for it. DLSS is basically a “on and off” toggle in Ninja Gaiden 4.

Furthermore, if you plan to use DLAA as your anti-aliasing solution, it will disable DLSS, which hampers performance. As such, if you want to use DLSS, we recommend keeping AA disabled, or forcing DLSS via the Nvidia Control Panel.
