Skarmory was already a strong Pokemon without Mega Evolution, and you can make it better with the best nature and moveset within Legends Z-A.
Being a Steel and Flying Pokemon gives Skarmory a great defense against lots of types in Pokemon Legends Z-A. Skarmory’s new Mega Evolution has only served to fuel this Pokemon’s viability in battle.
With the right moveset and nature, you can definitely dive-bomb your enemies with this Flying/Steel-type Pokemon.
Best Skarmory Moveset in Pokemon Legends Z-A
The best moveset for this Pokemon would be:
- Brave Bird
- Spikes
- Iron Head
- Aerial Ace
Brave Bird is one of the strongest Flying type moves in Pokemon. However, it comes at the cost of some recoil damage to Skarmory. This is well worth the cost if you use it right on Pokemon weak to Flying type moves.
Spikes is just a great setup move in general. It will continuously deal damage if the opponent Pokemon is standing within its area of effect. This will be extra effective if the opposing Pokemon is a Fire or Flying type. Iron Head is a strong Steel type move for coverage. Given Skarmory’s high Attack stat, this move will surely deal a large amount of damage. Lastly, Aerial Ace will round out the build just so you don’t have to spam Brave Bird every turn to hit their weakness.
Apart from these, you can consider Iron Defense if you want to further shore up its Defense. However, this is unlikely to be needed.
Best Skarmory Nature in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Mega Skarmory relies on a lot of stats to gain victory. It is a very well-rounded Pokemon, with high Speed, Defense, and Special Defense. However, its crowning stat is definitely its 140 Attack. Moreover, outside of its Mega form, it has 140 Defense instead, making it a very bulky Pokemon to take out.
However, to make it balanced, its Special Attack is being sacrificed. Naturally it makes sense to go all in on your Attack and Defense while sacrificing Special Attack. So the best Skarmory natures would be:
- Adamant (+Atk/-SpA)
- Impish (+Def/-SpA)
You do not need to worry about catching a Skarmory with this nature. Instead, you can simply change its nature using a Mint.
Skarmory Stats and Location
You can find Skarmory on the roofs of Wild Zone 17. You might want to go there at night to avoid the Pyroars in the area. Skarmory’s stats in its base form are:
- HP: 65
- Attack: 80
- Defense: 140
- Special Attack: 40
- Special Defense: 70
- Speed: 70
TOTAL: 465
Meanwhile, Mega Skarmory has a bunch of changes to the above stats, as reflected below:
- HP: 65
- Attack: 140
- Defense: 110
- Special Attack: 40
- Special Defense: 100
- Speed: 110
