In this article, learn how to beat Griselle, a member of Team Flare Nouveau and a former Team Flare member, in Pokemon Legends Z-A.

Griselle is a former member of Team Flare and a member of Team Flare Nouveau in Pokemon Legends Z-A. You fight her in the main mission “Reaching Rank A” before taking on Grisham in the promotion match. In this guide, we will show you how to defeat her so that you can progress in the main story of Legends Z-A.
How To Defeat Griselle in Pokemon Legends Z-A

You first meet Griselle at Nouveau Cafe in Centrico Plaza where she runs the place alongside Grisham. Her behavior gets aggressive when she realizes that you have figured out that they are former Team Flare members. She maintains this aggression all the way to the front of Lysandre’s now-defunct cafe, where she finally challenges you to a battle.
Griselle’s Team of Pokemon

Pokemon | Type | Level | Moves |
---|---|---|---|
Talonflame | Fire/Flying | 59 | Flare Blitz, Steel Wing, Quick Attack, U-Turn (+) |
Camerupt | Fire/Ground | 59 | Earthquake, Lava Plume, Rock Slide, Protect (+) |
Aerodactyl | Rock/Flying | 60 | Stone Edge, Iron Head, Crunch, Thunder Fang (+) |
Metagross | Steel/Psychic | 60 | Bullet Punch, Psycho Cut, Brutal Swing, Ice Punch (+) |
Pyroar | Fire/Normal | 61 | Flamethrower, Earth Power, Hyper Voice, Snarl |
Griselle has five Pokemon, all of whom are decently powerful. Her lead is a Talonflame that can spam Flare Blitz as it goes down. Her Camerupt is next and utilizes a decent combination of mixed STAB attacks, such as Earthquake and Lava Plume. Next up is Aerodactyl, which is her fastest mon and is a glass cannon. Then she brings out a Metagross, a tank that shrugs off damage and dishes it out thanks to its pseudo-legendary stats.
And like most major trainers in this game, her ace is a Pyroar that can Mega Evolve. It’s a fast Special Attacker with STAB moves like Flamethrower and Hyper Voice.
Counters To Griselle’s Pokemon

By this point in the game, you have defeated the Rogue Mega Tyranitar and attained the Tyranitarite. Mega Tyranitar is the best check to four of Griselle’s Pokemon. Stone Edge deals with Talonflame, Aerodactyl, and Mega Pyroar, while Crunch helps with Metagross. As for Camerupt, having a Water-type like Greninja, Gyarados, Feraligatr, Starmie, or Blastoise will make it easy to handle.
