Froslass is an Ice/Ghost-type first introduced in Generation IV. Early on in its competitive history, Froslass was used as an effective lead. However, general power creep and reduced emphasis on the lead meta saw Froslass go down in viability. Nevertheless, it attained a new Mega Evolution in Legends Z-A. So let’s see how to use Froslass to its full potential.

These are the moves you want to use on your Froslass, especially if you are looking to Mega Evolve it later.

  • Nasty Plot
  • Ice Beam
  • Shadow Ball
  • Thunderbolt

While Froslass has abysmal stats barring its 110 Speed, Mega Froslass can act as a fast special sweeper owing to its massive Special Attack stat. This enables it to utilize a stellar offensive STAB combo in Ice and Ghost.

Ice Beam and Shadow Ball are level-up moves for Froslass at 35 and 40, respectively. To further give itself a Special Attack boost, it can use Nasty Plot. It can learn this move from TM083, which Mable gives you at level 38 of her research. Finally, Thunderbolt is a useful coverage move that forms a deadly “BoltBeam” combo with Ice Beam. This move is TM067, which is also rewarded to you by Mable at level 24 of her research.

A Timid (+Spe, -Atk) nature would be ideal as Mega Froslass already has a high Special Attack stat which it can boost further through Nasty Plot. You can get a Timid Mint from a vendor in Vert Sector 6.

You can catch a female Snorunt in Wild Zone 12. As for the Dawn Stone needed to evolve it, you can collect it from multiple places in the map, like Bleu Sector 5, Jaune Sector 6, Rouge Sectors 1 and 2, Vert Sector 4, and Lysandre Labs. However, the best way to do it might be from the side mission “Froslass’s Unfinished Business.” As this takes place immediately after defeating the Rogue Mega Froslass and stars the Froslass you beat, the timing of this mission is ideal
