This Pokemon Legends Z-A guide will help you defeat Ivor in the Rank E promotion match so that you can move higher up the chain.

You’ll be meeting a lot of memorable characters over the course of Pokemon Legends Z-A’s story, and Ivor might just be one of the best. There’s nothing particularly unique about him, but his relentless fighting spirit is one to admire. Unfortunately for us, however, this fighting spirit also comes off in his fighting style, making the Rank E promotion match a total nightmare.
Ivor is a difficult opponent and is all that stands between you and the Rank D you desperately seek. However, beating Ivor requires you to identify his Pokemon, analyse their weaknesses, and then assemble a team to target those very weaknesses. The whole process is fairly lengthy, but this guide does just that for you.
How To Defeat Ivor in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Your road to Rank D in the Reaching Rank D quest begins after you’ve dealt with Rogue Mega Beedrill, Rogue Mega Hawlucha, and Rogue Mega Banettea. Once these Rogue Mega Pokemon are taken care of, you then have to fight a series of battles, all of which lead up to Ivor at the very end. Head to the Justice Dojo to begin this fight.

Counters To Ivor’s Team
Ivor’s Pokemon reflect their master’s fighting spirit and are Fighting-type Pokemon. Fighting-type Pokemon are weak to Psychic, Flying, and Fairy-type Pokemon, so this is what we shall be using to our advantage. We suggest bringing in Pokemon such as Mega Gardevoir, Aegislash, Aromatisse, Starmie, Pidgeot, and more.
