Fire type Pokemon are extremely great in any Pokemon game, and this holds for Legends Z-A as well. They can help you deal with Grass, Bug, and Steel type Pokemon quite easily.

However, this does not mean that all Fire type Pokemon are equally good. Some are much better or worse than others. This tier list aims to classify every Fire type Pokemon in the game so you can make an informed choice for your team.

Disclaimer: Pre-evolved Pokemon will be considered in the same tier as their post-evolution forms. This is because you will eventually be using their evolved forms. The exception to this would be branching evolution paths, which will be classified separately. Moreover, this will also take their Mega Evolutions into account.

S Tier

All the S Tier Fire type Pokemon are listed below:

PokemonReason
Charizard534 Base Stat Total (BST) makes it already impressive. Additionally, it has two different Mega Evolution forms for various situations. Mega Charizard X makes it a great Physical and Special attacker while giving it a Dragon/Fire typing. Meanwhile, Charizard Y is great for using Special Attacks.
Chandelure520 BST. Already a great Special Attacker in its base form. This gets further increased after Mega Evolution, with a great defensive stat spread to stay alive.
Delphox534 BST. Extremely high Special Attack, Speed, and Special Defense (even more so after Mega Evolution). Low Defense stat gets covered through barrier moves like Reflect.

A Tier

All the A Tier Fire type Pokemon are listed below:

PokemonReason
Houndoom500 BST. Good stat spread all around. High Special Attack after Mega Evolution.
Flareon525 BST. Extremely high Special Attack without the need for Mega Evolution.
Emboar528 BST. Mega Evolution gives this Pokemon a lot of bulkiness and attacking capability. However, its stats still seem slightly mismatched.
Talonflame499 BST is average. However, it makes up for it through its good moveset. Brave Bird and Flare Blitz combined with Swords Dance can deal good damage, even without having a Mega Evolution.

B Tier

All the B Tier Fire type Pokemon are listed below:

PokemonReason
Pyroar507 BST is decent. However, it has low Defense and Special Defense stats, with not enough Special Attack to justify a higher placement.
Camerupt460 BST. Has a good stat spread after Mega Evolution. However, this Pokemon is hurt by its 4x weaknesses to Water, which is easily exploited.

C Tier

All the C Tier Fire type Pokemon are listed below:

PokemonReason
Simisear498 BST. No stat stands out particularly. Not recommended for competitive use.
