Learn how to find and evolve Sandile, Krokorok, and Krookodile in Pokemon Legends Z-A, including Alpha locations and evolution tips.
If you want a strong Ground and Dark type with a serious attitude in Pokemon Legends Z-A, Sandile and its evolutions, Krokorok and Krookodile, are great picks. These desert crocodiles hit hard and have some useful resistances. You can get Sandile early while exploring Lumiose City, and once you start training it, the rest of the line follows easily.
How To Get Sandile in Pokemon Legends Z-A
You will first meet Sandile in Wild Zone 8, which is found in Jaune Plaza inside the Jaune District, northeast of Lumiose City. The zone becomes available once you complete Main Mission 9: Chase That Mysterious Pokemon, where you take down Rogue Mega Absol and receive the Mega Ring.
As you walk through the sandy parts of the zone, you will notice small ripples moving on the ground. That is Sandile hiding under the sand. Move closer, and it will pop out to fight. They are very common here and usually appear around Level 18 to 20, no matter what time of day it is.
If you want an easy catch, sneak from behind and throw a Quick Ball before it notices you. A good back strike will increase your chances of catching it without a tough battle.
How To Get Krokorok in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Once your Sandile reaches Level 29, it evolves into Krokorok. But if you want to catch one directly, you can do that too. Krokorok also shows up in Wild Zone 8, moving under the sand just like Sandile.
The exciting part here is the Alpha Krokorok that patrols the northwest side of the zone. You can spot it easily because of its glowing red eyes. This Alpha is around Level 38 and knows Aerial Ace, which it cannot normally learn by leveling up.
Catching Sandile gives you a big advantage since you only need two more levels to evolve it into Krookodile. Before you try, though, save your game. Alpha Pokemon can be unpredictable, and a failed attempt can make it vanish until the next reset.
How To Get Krookodile in Pokemon Legends Z-A
Krookodile comes from evolving your Krokorok at Level 40. It gains a major boost in stats and learns strong moves like Earthquake and Crunch, making it a serious powerhouse in battle.
If you prefer catching one directly, you can find wild Krookodile in Wild Zone 20. This location unlocks after finishing Main Mission 38: The Future of Lumiose City, so it is part of the post-game area. You can reach it in the center of Lumiose City, right below Prism Tower.
Here, you might also come across an Alpha Krookodile that can reach Level 64 or higher. It even comes with the move Stone Edge already learned. It does not appear every time, though, so you may need to reset spawns by fast traveling in and out until it shows up.
