Heracross is a Bug/Fighting-type Pokemon first introduced in Generation II. With each passing Generation, this Pokemon has received useful Abilities, items, or moves that have made it viable in the competitive meta. This culminated with it receiving a Mega Evolution in Generation VI. So let’s see how Heracross does in the Legends Z-A meta.

These are the moves you want to use on your Heracross if you plan on Mega Evolving it later in battle.

  • Swords Dance
  • Megahorn
  • Close Combat
  • Stone Edge

Heracross is a powerful physical attacker and remains as such after Mega Evolution. Mega Heracross has the second-highest Attack stat in the game after Mega Mewtwo X. As such, even neutral hits from this bug will squash most foes.

Swords Dance is useful to give Mega Heracross a further damage boost, which it learns at level 38. Megahorn and Close Combat are the respective Bug and Fighting STAB moves of choice. Heracross learns these at levels 45 and 50. Finally, Stone Edge is a useful coverage move to handle Flying-types that trouble Heracross. Teach it via TM065, which we can get in Wild Zone 18.

Best Heracross Nature in Pokemon Legends Z-A

Heracross would appreciate a Jolly (+Spe, -SpA) nature. It prefers the speed boost, as it already has a high Attack stat. Additionally, it can further boost its Attack stat with Swords Dance. You can get a Jolly Mint from a vendor in Vert Sector 6.
