In Baldur’s Gate 3, Defender Flail is a solid choice for Fighters and a good option for other character builds, and you can get them in Act 2 – this short Guide Explains everything you need to know about Defender Flail in BG3.
Defender Flail
The Defender Flail in Baldur’s Gate 3 is a formidable weapon, particularly favored by Fighter or Cleric classes, although its versatile bonuses make it a solid choice for various character builds. The Defender Flail possesses a Weapon Enchantment bonus of +1, elevating your overall combat effectiveness and adding a bonus to already decent damage output. Another unique feature of the Defender Flail is its Tenacity Action, which allows you to strike back with 3 Bludgeoning damage to your target if you miss an attack, punishing your foes even when your initial strike misses.
It offers a protective advantage with its Steel Physiology attribute. When wielding this weapon, you benefit from reduced damage, with incoming Bludgeoning, Piercing, and Slashing attacks reduced by 1. Furthermore, the flail contributes to your overall defense by granting an Armor Class (AC) bonus of +1. This enhances your character’s ability to avoid incoming attacks.
You can equip it to your character’s main hand weapon slot in the inventory, providing additional bonuses and buffs. The user needs Martial weapon proficiency or suffers penalties while wearing the weapon. You can equip it on any class, companion, or character with Martial Weapon Proficiency.
