In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Amulet of Branding is a rare amulet that you can obtain by killing and looting A’jak’nir Jeera in the Crèche Y’llek during Act 1. This amulet offers the special feature Brand the Weak. Essentially, it marks a target with vulnerability to either Bludgeoning, Slashing, or Piercing damage. The vulnerability status effect doubles the damage from that type, and Brand the Weak allows you to unload one attack for massive damage.

How to Get Amulet of Branding in Baldur’s Gate 3
To obtain the Amulet of Branding, move from the beginning of Act 1 to the Mountains Pass, through Rosymorn Monastery, and to the Creche Y’llek to find A’jak’nir Jeera. A’jak’nir Jeera is a quartermaster who is friendly and will sell items to you, but not the Amulet of Branding. It’s recommended to complete the quest Discover the Artifacts Secret and Find the Blood of Lathander. This will have you travel to the Inquistor’s Chamber, complete a quest, and have to fight your way out of the Creche. At that point, you can kill A’jak’nir Jeera and collect the Amulet of Branding.
Here is how to get the Amulet of Branding in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3):
- Enter the Mountain Pass northwest on your map (X:-127 Y:561).
- Travel through the Rosymery Monastery to the northeast on the map.
- Enter the Creche Y’llek, and move to Captain’s Quarters (X: 1392 Y: -776).
- Kill or convince Kith’rak Therezzyn to give Githyanki Barrier Disruptor.
- Lower the barrier, and enter the Inquisitor’s Chambers.
- Defeat Inquisitor Ch’r’ai W’wargaz.
- Return to kill A’jak’nir Jeera.
- Loot the Amulet of Branding from her corpse.
How to Use Amulet of Branding
The best way to use the Amulet of Branding is on builds with multiple bonus actions. The Branding of the Weak requires a bonus action to apply this in combat, and last 3 turns or until you do damage. Thus, you want to attack the same turn you apply it and select the proper damage type:
- Slashing = Two-handed greatswords
- Bludgeoning = Two-handed mauls
- Piercing = Bows or Daggers
Our favorite builds to use this on are the solo Ranger and Barbarian. Both are multiclassed with the Rogue/Thief combination for two bonus actions per turn. This gives you the ability to apply and burst attack with the class for a devastating combination.
