Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 is set to drop soon, and players will step into the shoes of Demetrian Titus again. Much like the original, Space Marine 2 will also feature PvP elements, which opens up possibility of crossplay, aka players on different platforms engaging with each other. Luckily, Saber Interactive has already revealed details about how crossplay will work in Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2.
Crossplay in Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 Explained
Space Marine 2 is set to feature crossplay between various different platforms and services. These include:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
- Steam
- Epic Games Store
However, this functionality seems to be limited to the Campaign and the PvE modes. The Campaign will allow players to join up to two other friends and undertake the journey. The PvE Operations mode, on the other hand, will let players team up to engage in large scale warfare.
The Eternal War mode, Space Marine 2’s PvP experience, will not feature crossplay between consoles and PC. According to Saber Interactive, this was done to keep things fair and balanced in PvP matches. There will be no matchups between console and PC players. However, those on PlayStation 5 and Xbox One X|S will be able to play with each other. And, those using the Steam and Epic Games Store will also be able to pair up.
If players want to restrict their companions to the same platform, they have the option to disable crossplay altogether.
