Dragon Age The Veilguard is set ten years after the events of Dragon Age Inquisition, and it will carry forward the story of Solas.
The Dragon Age saga is entering its next chapter with the release of Dragon Age The Veilguard. The fourth major entry in the series, it will be a direct sequel to Dragon Age Inquisition. It will launch on October 31, 2024.

Dragon Age Origins
Dragon Age Origins, the game that started it all, released in 2009 and introduced players to the world of Thedas. Set during the Fifth Blight in the year 9:30, the game focuses on the conflict between the Grey Warden and the Archdemon. The story was later expanded upon in Dragon Age Origins – Awakening, set in the year 9:31. It pit the Grey Wardens against new darkspawn.
Dragon Age 2
Released in 2011, Dragon Age 2 begins parallel to Dragon Age Origins in the year 9:30 and takes place over seven years, till the year 9:37 Dragon. The game presents the story of Hawke and features the debut of fan-favorite Varric Tethras, who happens to be the narrator.
Dragon Age 2 covers the longest span of the continent’s history and details the Qunari occupation and the Mage-Templar War. The war ravages the land of Kirkwall, which sets the stage for Dragon Age Inquisition.
Dragon Age Inquisition
Dragon Age Inquisition released in 2014 on the then new-generation consoles. The game kicks off in the year 9:40 Dragon, three years after the events of Dragon Age 2. It features a rekindled Inquisition and the sealing of the Breach. Solas, who acts as a companion character, is later revealed to be the brains behind the game’s events. This sets up Dragon Age The Veilguard.
Dragon Age Inquisition also has the Jaws of Hakkon, The Descent, and the Trespasser expansions set within the same timeframe, which help tie the story better to Dragon Age The Veilguard.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
The latest entry in the series, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, takes place ten years after the events of Dragon Age Inquisition. It continues the story of Solas The Dread Wolf. The Elven apostate mage is back, and he is out to destroy the Veil to merge the worlds of the mortals and spirits into one.
