There are two different ways you can perform the Chase Change mechanic in Sparking Zero. These methods can vary depending on your control layout. As such, given below are the methods to perform the Chase Change mechanic on both control layouts:

Chase Change (Standard Layout)

To perform Chase Change with the Standard control layout, you need to initiate your Rush Attack combo. It is advised that you start the combo where your character’s attack is about to push an enemy away since this would give you more time to perform the Chase Change. However, you can perform this whenever you see fit.

Just as the enemy is pushed back, press Left on the D-Pad. This will open the character switch menu. You can now press the corresponding button for the character you want to switch to and implement it into a combo chain. This will successfully perform a Chase Change.

Chase Change (Classic Layout)

Much like the Standard control layout, start your Rush Attack combo and wait for your character to push the enemy back. This will give you enough time to switch characters. When the enemy is pushed back, press L3 + R3 on the PlayStation controller and LSB + RSB on the Xbox controller. This will open up the character switch menu.

Now, you need to flick the right joystick on your controller to switch to the character you want to. This will allow you to successfully perform a Chase Change and open a whole new world of possibilities during battle.
