Follow this guide to learn how to unlock the storylines of Future Trunks and Jiren in the Episode Battle Mode of Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, an action-fighting game from the popular Dragon Ball franchise, was released on October 11, 2024. It includes a massive roster of around 182 characters, unlike many other fighting games.
The main story campaign mode of Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, titled “Episode Battle”, takes a unique approach. It narrates the storyline from the perspective of the eight major characters – Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Jiren, Future Trunks, Goku Black, and Frieza. The Episode battles also come with multiple Branching Paths or Sparking Episodes based on the choice of players, following a What-if concept.
Six out of the eight Episode Battles – Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Goku Black, and Frieza – are available to the players from the beginning. However, Jiren and Future Trunks’s Episode Battles are unlocked later during the gameplay. Here’s how you can go about it.
How to Unlock Future Trunks Episode Battle in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
In order to gain access to Future Trunks Episode Battle, you need to complete a large part of Goku’s Story Mode, up to the Goku Black saga. You can unlock the Future Trunks Episode Battle at the end of Chapter 6 during the Future Trunks Arc. Defeating Fused Zamasu as Vegito Blue during the battle “In Order To Fuse…” will unlock the Episode Battle of Future Trunks.
How to Unlock Jiren In Episode Battle Mode in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
The completion of the Universe Survival Arc will unlock the Episode Battle of Jiren. Clearing the final mission of Chapter 7 “Goku’s Strength” will reward you with Jiren’s Episode Battle. It is considered one of the toughest battles of the mode, where Ultra Instinct Sign Goku fights Jiren in the Tournament of Power.
Both Future Trunks and Jiren’s Episode Battle can be unlocked on Goku’s Saga at around Chapter 7. So it will take roughly one or two hours to unlock the Future Trunks and Jiren’s Saga. These episodes are comparatively more difficult than other episodes. But completing them will let you experience the storyline from the perspective of Future Trunks and Jiren.
