Metaphor ReFantazio features over 40 different Archetypes to choose from, making it easy for you to switch.
Metaphor ReFantazio features an in-depth and mechanically pleasing combat system. The game’s combat lets players approach battles in varying ways, allowing for a lot of freedom in attacks and mechanics used during combat. A massive part of this experience is the Archetypes. These in-game classes, such as Healer and Seeker, can heavily impact your gameplay as you take on battles. With over 40 types, you can change your character Archetypes along the way.
This article breaks down how you can change your Archetype and see which one fits you best in Metaphor ReFantazio.
Changing Archetypes in Metaphor ReFantazio
Before changing Archetypes, you must meet certain in-game requirements. First, get to the end of the Nord Mines dungeon and complete the Captain Klinger boss fight. Before the boss fight begins, Strohl will pick up the Warrior Archetype. You can then complete the fight.
After the boss fight is wrapped, the Protagonist will automatically form a bond with Strohl. This will take you to More at Akademia. Here, the mysterious man will enable you to unlock Grius’ Archetype. This will also unlock the ability to change Archetypes in the Metaphor ReFantazio main menu. You can now spend MAG to unlock even more Archetypes and explore more gameplay styles.
To make the change, visit the main menu and go to the Equipment section. Choose the party member you want to modify and select the current Archetype. You can now not only switch but also see details regarding strengths and weaknesses. It is important to remember that while you can switch Archetypes in towns and dungeons, you cannot modify them while you are in a battle.
