Given the developments in My Hero Academia season 7 surrounding Katsuki Bakugo, it is quite natural for you fans to wonder about his status in the anime. Just as it seemed like no one would be able to face off against the villain, Katsuki Bakugo stepped up and gave the villain a decent run for his money. He used his newly developed Howitzer Impact: Cluster to fight the villain. During this, a side-effect of the move helped Bakugo move faster than he normally could. Hence, he was able to surprise the villain with his attacks. Unfortunately, All For One fueled Shigaraki was too much for Bakugo to handle all by himself.

So, does Bakugo die in My Hero Academia anime? While any reveal about his status beyond the developments from the anime is strictly spoilers from the manga, not much can be done to stop fans who eagerly yearn to learn the answer to the question. Fortunately, no. Katsuki Bakugo does not die in the anime. However, he does get critically injured after his fight against the villain Shigaraki Tomura. The injury was so critical that his heart stopped beating altogether. One can understand if Bakugo’s heart had stopped beating if he had died in the fight, but if he did not, what caused his heart to stop? What was Bakugo’s injury during the Final War Arc?

After Katsuki Bakugo delivered some strong attacks on Shigaraki Tomura, the villain responded with a heavy punch right on his chest. This attack caused Bakugo’s heart to burst, leaving him fatally wounded on the ground. Soon after, when Best Jeanist inspected Bakugo’s lifeless bloodied body, he realized that the young hero had a hole in his chest. Moreover, he had no pulse to keep his body alive.

Due to such developments, Katsuki Bakugo was considered “supposedly dead” for some time in the series. Fortunately, he was saved by Edgeshot, who risked his life to save the young hero. But how did No.5 Pro Hero rescue Bakugo from his injury?

Despite Katsuki Bakugo’s critical injuries, the heroes refused to accept that he had perished. Hence, the No.5 Pro Hero Edgeshot made it his mission to save Bakugo. He decided to repair all of Bakugo’s damages from the inside, all while performing CPR on his heart. For this, the Pro Hero used his Ultimate Move: Zenith. The technique essentially allowed Edgeshot to stretch his body to the maximum. With such a body, Edgeshot entered Bakugo’s lifeless body and acted as a medical suture to repair the damage to his heart and other organs.

Unfortunately, while Edgeshot was able to save Bakugo’s life using this technique, it also had adverse effects on his own body. While using the technique, Edgeshot’s body became as thin as a piece of thread. Hence, the longer he stayed in this form the faster his life force drained away. As later seen in the series, while Edgeshot survived the technique, his body had turned tiny. Bakugo was saddened by his condition, but the good thing is that both heroes survived the ordeal.

Yes, Katsuki Bakugo will fight again in the final battle. After Bakugo was defeated, Deku arrived to fight Shigaraki while All For One faced off against a number of heroes. After All for One defeated them, he was headed towards Shigaraki Tomura. Just then, All Might arrived to stop him as allowing the two All For One users would have led to the worst possible situation.

During their fight, All Might managed to cause significant damage to the villain. However, All For One’s reverse aging allowed him to stay in top shape till the very end. Moments later, All For One defeated All Might and carried him on his shoulder, hoping to break him in two in front of everyone watching the live broadcast feeds of the battle. Just as Deku requested someone to save the former No.1 Hero, Katsuki Bakugo returned to the battle and rescued his hero All Might.

This fight saw Katsuki Bakugo fight All Might to the full extent of his ability, repeatedly blasting him, causing him to reverse age to the point where he vanished from existence. Unfortunately, this was not the end for All For One as he later returns to the battle close to its conclusion.
