What Is the VS Gravitic Arrest God Roll in Destiny 2?
For the most part, a god roll is the best combination of perks and masterwork that a weapon can get. God rolls are often sought after as they are considered the ultimate drop of that weapon and the most effective roll used in most content. In most situations, there are two god rolls for any gun, a roll for PvE and one for PvP. The VS Gravitic Arrest doesn’t look like it has anything meta-defining for PvE but it has some unique options. That being said, it has a monster PvP roll that could make waves in the Crucible and is worth going for.

PvE Breakdown
The VS Gravitic Arrest is looking to be an interesting and powerful choice for PvE even if it is not going to shake up the meta any time soon. Its recoil direction and handling is less than stellar, so Arrowhead Brake is a great choice for our barrel. While you could argue for Liquid Coils, the extra shot from Enhanced Battery is typically more useful than the additional impact damage. A Charge Time masterwork is also handy here, but you could opt to improve the Handling or Reload Speed stat instead if you prefer.
A lot of the perks in Column 3 are decent so its hard to get a bad roll there. The best option is of course Demolitionist with its easy reload on demand and increase to grenade energy. The VS Gravitic Arrest is as of its release the only fusion rifle that can roll with Chain Reaction and that is a doozy of a perk causing explosions on weapon kills. This synergizes well with Demolitionist as the explosions should also count as weapon kills for replenishing your grenade energy. As stated earlier, the VS Gravitic Arrest god roll is unique and powerful but isn’t meta-defining by any means. It is worth a look if you get one.
Other PvE Rolls of Note

PvP Breakdown
Players who love using fusion rifles in PvP are going to love this weapon. The VS Gravitic Arrest has a powerful PvP god and could very well become one of the better fusion rifles for the Crucible. Arrowhead Brake is a great option for improved handling and for getting the recoil direction in line, which is very useful in PvP. Fusion Rifles benefit from a lower charge time in PvP so Accelerated Coils and a Charge Time masterwork are great picks to get the fusion bolts off faster.
Columns 3 and 4 on the VS Gravitic Arrest have a powerful and synergistic combination in Under Pressure and Closing Time. These perks both increase the overall stability, range, and accuracy of the weapon when the magazine is low. Since it is a special weapon, the fusion rifle already starts at low ammo in the magazine. This means that the perks are immediately in effect as soon as you load into the match. Fusion rifles excel when you can efficiently hit every bolt on the target and these two perks can help with that tremendously. The VS Gravitic Arrest is absolutely a fusion rifle you will want in your PvP armory.
FAQ about the VS Gravitic Arrest God Roll Guide
Q1. What is the ideal range for using the VS Gravitic Arrest?
Answer: Fusion rifles like the VS Gravitic Arrest excel at low mid-range to close-range engagements. The effective range of the VS Gravitic Arrest is around 15 to 3 meters. Any further than that and it is going to be harder to connect enough fusion bolts to kill the target. Remember that fusions have a charge time, so mastering that is going to be key in dictating when you want to pull the trigger to get your target in that effective range.
Q2. What is the best charge time for the VS Gravitic Arrest?
Answer: While there is some matter of preference in how fast you want your fusion rifle to charge, especially in PvP, there are some things to keep in mind when determining your perks to affect your charge time. For the most part, adaptive frame fusion rifles can kill in 5 bolts so increasing their charge time makes that easier to do as they shoot 7. Increasing the charge time too much increases the number of bolts required to hit to 6, but that’s still manageable for the most part. These numbers are of course only accurate in the effective range of the fusion rifle, so try to avoid firing from too far away. Overall, a lower charge time is a benefit to adaptive frame fusion rifles like the VS Gravitic Arrest.
