Captain Klinger is a Level 5 boss found in the Prologue quest of Metaphor ReFantazio. The Captain is a scheming backstabber who has bloodied his hands with the lives of innocents, including the lives of those close to Strohl. Preparation for Captain Klinger in Metaphor ReFantazio
Strohl unlocks the Warrior Archetype in this boss fight. The Archetype is very strong and can take away over half of the Mage soldiers’ HP. Stock up on heals as the boss deals lots of fire damage which you may be weak to. Your strategy is to get rid of the soldiers first and isolate the boss before dealing with him.
Captain Klinger: Recommended Party Setup
You unlock the Warrior Archetype at this point in the game, so Strohl is locked in with the Warrior. The Protagonist can run the Seeker for the Dei healing ability to protect against fire attacks. The Seeker also has a powerful Cyc attack that can be put to use, Grius comes in handy with his melee attacks and deals moderate damage to the enemies.
Captain Klinger: Recommended Archetypes
Bring in the Seeker for its balanced attack and defense capabilities. You can use the Cyc attack to deal high damage to the Mage soldiers and can Dei to heal simultaneously. This fight is the Warrior’s introduction and the Archetype naturally plays a big role in this fight with its Diagonal Slashes. These attacks eat away over half of Mage Soldier HP.
Metaphor ReFantazio Captain Klinger Battle Strategy
The battle strategy against Captain Klinger is simple. Deal with his Mage soldiers and isolate him for a 3-on-1 assault. The mage soldiers need to be dealt with early as they buff the Captain, making him a formidable threat.
The Mages, while intimidating with their buffs, are nimble on their own. The diagonal slash is more than enough to deal with them. Pair that up with the Seeker’s Cyc, to deal with the soldiers in no time. This will leave the Captain standing alone.
Captain Klinger deploys a variety of fire magic. The Seeker is weak to fire, so make sure to be on your guard and block these attacks. Use the Warrior and his physical attacks to deal with Klinger. Chip away at his HP to claim victory and proceed.
Captain Klinger Rewards
Defeating the boss grants you the following rewards:
- 150 EXP
