If you are not content with the way you have built your Sim, you can edit them even in the middle of your Sims 4 gameplay.
There is a general idea that you can’t edit your Sims after creating them in The Sims 4. That is technically correct since the game does not allow you to do officially. It is trying to simulate real life after all, and there are not many ways one can magically change one’s entire appearance and personality overnight.
Those who just wish to change outfits can make their Sim walk up to the closet and select predetermined clothes or outfits. There is an option called Plan Outfits as well, which will let you enter the CAS mode. You can’t edit the Sim just yet, but you can plan their outfits and switch things up.
Editing a Sim completely is a little more complicated. You will have to work with cheat codes. These are officially recognized by EA, so you do not have to worry about any negative repercussions. But, do note that the saved file you are working on will no longer receive any achievements/trophies if you activate cheat codes.
Here’s How You Can Fully Edit Your Sim in the Sims 4
PC/Mac Users
Start by pressing Ctrl + Shift + C (for PC users) or Command + Shift + C (for Mac users). The cheat window will pop up on the top left where you need to write “testingcheats true” (without the quotes) and hit Enter. This enables cheats. Now, type “cas.fulleditmode” (without the quotes) and press Enter again. You are now free to edit your Sim completely. Take your cursor over to them, hold Shift and press Left Click on the mouse. Select Modify in CAS and make the magic happen!
Playstation/Xbox Users
Kick off the process by pressing both bumpers and both triggers at the same time. As the cheat console appears, use X on PS or A on Xbox. Type “testingcheats true” without the quotes and enter it to activate all cheats. Now, type “cas.fulleditmode” in the window. Playstation users must press O + X simultaneously to access Modify in CAS and make the desirable changes. Xbox users need to hold B + A and press B to access the Modify in CAS option.
A Little Bonus for Sims With Jobs
You may have noticed that your Sims wear the same clothes to work each day? The uniform only changes when they are promoted. So, if you are looking to get rid of your Sims’ old work clothes and make them wear new ones, there is a way to do that as well.
After typing out the usual “testingcheats true” command, you need to type “sims.modify_career_outfit_incas” (without the quotes). Confirm your cheat request with Enter or the respective button on your console. Your selected Sim will automatically enter the CAS mode with their work outfit ready to be edited.
