Pokemon TCG Pocket is a card game at its core. If you have downloaded this mobile game, you are either a collector looking to catch ’em all or a competitive player looking for some PvP action. For the latter, you will need to create decks, and these will not just consist of Pokemon cards. Trainer Cards are a part of the Pokemon TCG experience. They exist both in the offline game and in Pokemon TCG Online.

The idea and function of Trainer Cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket remain the same. However, their effect has been altered to fit the playstyle of this mobile game. In this article, we will explain what Trainer Cards are in Pokemon TCG Pocket, their types, and why they are important in a deck for competitive plays.

Trainer Cards are non-Pokemon cards that have some special effect during a match in Pokemon TCG Pocket. You can only play Trainer Cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket during your attack turn. There are two types of Trainer Cards, and their function differs based on them:

  • Supporter Cards
  • Item Cards

A deck with only Pokemon Cards will not work well in TCG Pocket. Trainer Cards, on the other hand, act as supporting units that form unique synergies with your Pokemon to make the decks stronger. They can heal or deal increased damage, depending on the card and the scenario. A well-balanced deck in Pokemon TCG Pocket needs to have a healthy ratio of Pokemon and Trainer Cards to perform well.

Supporter Cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket

Supporter Cards are denoted by a real human person from the Pokemon verse. These are mostly NPCs like gym leaders, professors, or even members of antagonistic factions like Team Rocket. You will only be able to play one Supporter Card per round in Pokemon TCG Pocket.

Here is a list of all Supporter Cards and their effects in Pokemon TCG Pocket:
