xQc is a famous Twitch streamer. His gamertag is a combination of his first name’s last letter “x” and his home province Quebec “QC”.
Felix Lengyel, popularly known as xQc, was born on November 12, 1995, in Quebec, Canada. He is a popular Twitch streamer, YouTuber, and former professional Overwatch player. Recently, his popularity has soared due to his $100 million deal with the online streaming platform Kick. He is also famous for talking extremely fast.
xQc began streaming on Twitch in 2015. He was a fan of video games such as WoW and Warcraft III and began streaming while playing Overwatch in 2016. xQc has changed his gamertag multiple times. By 2019 he had already gained 2 million followers. Currently, he is known for his gaming content, live chats, and community interaction. He refers to his fanbase as “juicer army” which reflects his enthusiasm and energy.
xQc’s Gamertag Over The Years
Recently xQc has been topping the charts in the streaming industry. He has one of the top 10 most-followed channels on Twitch, with a total of 12 million followers. When it comes to his gaming name, he keeps changing it according to the game he plays. When he started off with League of Legends, his gamertag was “xQcLoL”. Allegedly, the streamer has 7 banned accounts with the name.
Later, in 2016 when xQc shifted to Blizzard’s multiplayer shooter game Overwatch, he changed his name to xQcOW. This username went a long way on Twitch and remianed unchanged for almost 6 years.
In May, 2022, he announced during a livestream that he would change his name to just “xQc”. He told his “juicer army” that he had communicated with a Twitch representative and had already requested to change his moniker. Most of his fans called it the “end of an era”, although xQc did not stop playing Overwatch. He said:
After I asked, he said that he just submitted the change to have my username shortened to just “xQc”. So then, I guess if it goes through, it might just change mid-stream, at the end. It might just change.
xQc’s Journey With Dallas Fuel
The famous Twitch streamer signed up with Dallas Fuel after he earned the “Most Valuable Player” award in Overwatch for his performance during the 2017 Overwatch World Cup. But his time with them was short. After his team was defeated in the final stages of the tournament, he was suspended and fined due to homophobic and racist comments. His streaming endeavors did not stop there.
Since his name has changed, xQc has made remarkable achievements. He won The Streamers Award in 2023 for “Best Variety Streamer”, and in 2022 he won the 12th Streamy Awards under the category “Just Chatting”. In 2023, he signed a huge deal worth $100 Million with Kick, which was non-exclusive. This allowed him to continue streaming on Twitch. He ended 2023 by being the 4th most-watched streamer on Twitch.
