Who is Kashin Koji in Boruto? Taking a closer look at Jiraiya’s clone who was a former Inner member of the Kara
Boruto is a sequel to the original Naruto anime and manga series that was created by Masashi Kishimoto. Despite it being a sequel, there are plenty of new characters that were introduced in the series. That being said, popular characters from the past have made their appearances as well.
There is one character in particular who is quite unique. Not only is he a new character, but his design also resembles a popular character from the original series. This character is none other than Kashin Koji. He was first introduced in chapter 15 of the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga.
One of the reasons why the fanbase made a ton of noise upon his introduction is his character design. He resembles Jiraiya, who is a beloved character from the original series. He was one of the legendary Sannin, who died while fighting the Six Paths of Pain. Kashin Koji is modeled after him, and he is currently playing an important role in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga series.
Who is Kashin Koji in the Boruto series?
Kashin Koji is a clone of Jiraiya, and he was a part of the Kara. This was a nefarious organization created by Jigen. The group was split in two – Inner and Outer members. Kashin Koji was a former Inner member of this organization. Amado is the one who created a clone of Jiraiya. Kashin Koji came into being because Amado Sanzu had a contingency plan that was tailored to kill Isshiki Otsutsuki.
Kashin Koji is a stoic man who rarely gives in to his emotions. At first, it seemed like his loyalties lay with Kara. He later revealed that everything was a facade, and the only thing that mattered to him was Isshiki Otsutsuki’s death. He is someone who sided with humanity and therefore wished to kill Isshiki Otsutsuki, whose very existence is a threat to the human race.
Those who haven’t read the latest chapters will be shocked to know that he is one of the most important deuteragonists in the series. He is currently helping the protagonist with a unique set of abilities that were revealed in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
Kashin Koji’s Abilities in the Boruto Series
Kashin Koji has a unique set of abilities that make him a cut above the rest. He is proficient in Senjutsu, which means he can enter Sage Mode and take on strong opponents. His ability to manipulate and control chakra is well above average. He is one of the few people in the entire series that uses Rasengan. This was a technique that was developed by Minato and perfected by his son, Naruto. He can also use the Ultra-Big Ball Rasengan variant, showing just how good his chakra control and reserves are.
Furthermore, Kashin Koji has the ability to use space-time ninjutsu, which grants him access to the Ten Tail dimension. He can enter in and out of it as he pleases. However, the most impressive ability is his Shinjutsu. This is a term that refers to Divine Techniques, used by a select few. His Divine Technique is called Prescience, allowing him to look at alternate future realities. This in turn allows him to prepare for certain events. His Prescience showed him a vision of Isshiki killing Naruto and then obtaining Kawaki’s body, which happens to be the perfect vessel. Eida and Kashin Koji are the only ones with Shinjutsu abilities in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga so far.
Is Kashin Koji Alive in Boruto?
This question was posed in several discussions that took place on various social media networks and forums. The reason for this question was due to the fight that took place between Kashin Koji and Isshiki Otsutsuki. The latter was exceptionally strong, and he overwhelmed Kashin Koji with ease. Despite the use of Earth and Fire Release techniques, there wasn’t much that he could do to Isshiki. In the end, it seemed like Isshiki was about to deliver the final blow.
However, fans will be pleased to know that Kashin Koji is alive and well. A toad summon helped him escape from the battlefield in the nick of time. He was sidelined in the Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga for quite some time. However, he is currently receiving the screen time that he rightfully deserves. To reiterate the abovementioned statement, Jiraiya is alive. He isn’t dead, and he will play an important role in the upcoming chapters of the manga series.
Kashin Koji’s Role in the Boruto Manga
As mentioned earlier, Kashin Koji is playing the role of a deuteragonist at the time of writing. There was a three-year time skip, following which Boruto returned to Konohagakure. His reception is hostile since the village blamed him for Naruto’s alleged death, all thanks to Eida’s Omnipotence. To make matters worse, the village is being threatened by the Shinju, or the Divine Tree entities. The pseudo-Ten-Tailed Beast chakra managed to receive a humanoid form, which further developed a conscience after sealing various shinobi. They are exceptionally strong, and the village elders are panicking.
Boruto is attempting to thwart these Divine Tree entities, while simultaneously reassuring the village elders about Naruto’s safety. The protagonist seems to be in control because of Kashin Koji’s assistance. He revealed the Shinju ability, which allows him to see the future timelines. This is an extremely important skill to have because it allows Boruto to plan his next move with precision. He is better equipped to deal with threats, and there are contingency plans in place.
It’s clear that Boruto is plotting and looking for a way to bring Naruto back to the real world while taking on Kawaki as well. It will be interesting to see what Kashin Koji truly knows and the extent of his help offered to the protagonist in the series.

Furthermore, seeing him team up with Boruto reassured fans to a considerable degree.
