How to Get Prophet of Doom in Destiny 2
You obtain the Prophet of Doom from the Garden of Salvation raid on the Moon. Specifically, the Prophet of Doom can drop from the raid’s 2nd Encounter, Summon, or any hidden chest after acquiring it at least once from the said encounter. To access Garden of Salvation, you must own the Shadowkeep expansion. As of Episode Revenant, the Prophet of Doom can be crafted at the Enclave once you have unlocked its Deepsight pattern. To unlock crafting for the Prophet of Doom, you must extract 5 patterns from Deepsight versions of the weapon.
To acquire the Deepsight Pattern of the Garden of Salvation Weapons, players must go to the Clan Vendor, Suraya Hawthorne at the Tower and acquire the “Deepsight Signal” quest. This quest guarantees a red border weapon on completion and only requires that every encounter in the raid be completed. This quest can be completed weekly and once completed the player can purchase an additional Deepsight weapon the player has unlocked in collections. Deepsight Patterns can also sometimes drop with the weapons acquired during the raid itself or have it applied to them with a Deepsight Harmonizer.
What Is the Prophet of Doom God Roll in Destiny 2?
A god roll is the best combination of perks and masterwork that a weapon can get. God rolls are often sought after as they are considered the ultimate drop of that weapon and the most effective roll used in most content. In most situations, there are two god rolls for any gun, a roll for PvE and one for PvP. The Prophet of Doom has a decent PvE roll, but doesn’t necessarily bring anything new to the table. The PvP roll is also really good and is unique enough to warrant getting this weapon crafted.
PvE Prophet of Doom God Roll
The best perks for the Prophet of Doom PvE God Roll are Barrel Shroud, Appended Mag, Envious Arsenal, and One-Two Punch. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.
The following list is the best perks for the Prophet of Doom PvE God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Barrel: Barrel Shroud
- Magazine: Appended Mag
- Column 3 Trait: Envious Arsenal
- Column 4 Trait: One-Two Punch
- Masterwork: Handling
- Origin Trait: Photoinhibition
- Weapon Mod: Backup Mag
PvE Breakdown
Shotguns are effective PvE weapons but tend only to be used in certain builds or damage-dealing situations. Arc Hunter and Solar Titan are the most common users of shotguns in normal PvE content as they utilize melee focus builds that synergize well with the close-range weapon. You want to increase its handling and magazine size by taking the perks Barrel Shroud and Appended Mag. A Backup Mag mod is also useful to get that extra bullet in the magazine.
The Prophet of Doom can take advantage of the new Envious Arsenal trait in Column 3, but it is not necessarily doing anything that other reload perks aren’t already in this instance. It is unique enough to mention though. In Column 4 old standbys like Trench Barrel and One-Two Punch are still the best you can get with a shotgun in PvE. Overall the Prophet of Doom isn’t reinventing the wheel at all, but that isn’t to say that it isn’t effective. It is a solid addition to your arsenal even if it isn’t one you need to rush after.
PvP Prophet of Doom God Roll

The following list is the best perks for the Prophet of Doom PvP God Roll in Destiny 2:
- Barrel: Barrel Shroud

- Column 3 Trait: Slideways
- Column 4 Trait: Closing Time
- Masterwork: Range
- Origin Trait: Photoinhibition
- Weapon Mod: Ballistics
PvP Breakdown
Precision frame shotguns are great options in the PvP sandbox and the Prophet of Doom is no exception. It is a solid choice with the right perks and the fact that it is craftable only makes it more desirable as it can be completely customizable. As with the PvE option, Barrel Shroud is a great option to increase handling for quick swapping to your shotgun. Accurized Rounds is a great option for your magazine perk for increased accuracy on the weapon.
The Prophet of Doom is one of the few shotguns with the trait Slideways instead of Slideshot. This gives it a bit of uniqueness that makes it desirable to have in your arsenal. While the enhanced handling may not be as obviously useful as the range granted from Slideshot, its worth bringing up as a unique option. Threat Detector is also a valid option although again there are several shotguns that can already roll with that trait. Closing Time is a very powerful perk option in PvE as it starts out active on any special weapon, basically granting bonus stats and accuracy for no effort. Despite it being more unique than its PvE counterpart, the Prophet of Doom won’t be knocking out any top PvP shotguns overall, but mileage may vary considering its unique perk options.
