Destiny 2 Sacred Provenance God Roll Guide

Sacred Provenance is a kinetic aggressive burst frame pulse rifle introduced in the Garden of Salvation Raid from the Shadowkeep Expansion. Garden of Salvation weapons were updated and revised during Episode: Revenant. Aggressive burst frame pulse rifles are great weapons in both PvE and PvP, but tend to be a love-them-or-hate-them weapon type for most players. The Sacred Provenance is fully craftable as of Episode Revenant. This guide will discuss the PvE and PvP god rolls and how to get the Sacred Provenance pulse rifle.

How to Get Sacred Provenance in Destiny 2

You obtain the Sacred Provenance from the Garden of Salvation raid on the Moon. Specifically, the Sacred Provenance can drop from the raid’s 3rd Encounter, the Consecrated Mind, or any hidden chest after acquiring it at least once from the said encounter. To access Garden of Salvation, you must own the Shadowkeep expansion. As of Episode Revenant, the Sacred Provenance can be crafted at the Enclave once you have unlocked its Deepsight pattern. To unlock crafting for the Sacred Provenance, you must extract 5 patterns from Deepsight versions of the weapon.

To acquire the Deepsight Pattern of the Garden of Salvation Weapons, players must go to the Clan Vendor, Suraya Hawthorne at the Tower and acquire the “Deepsight Signal” quest. This quest guarantees a red border weapon on completion and only requires that every encounter in the raid be completed. This quest can be completed weekly and once completed the player can purchase an additional Deepsight weapon the player has unlocked in collections. Deepsight Patterns can also sometimes drop with the weapons acquired during the raid itself or have it applied to them with a Deepsight Harmonizer.

What Is the Sacred Provenance God Roll in Destiny 2?

A god roll is the best combination of perks and masterwork that a weapon can get. God rolls are often sought after as they are considered the ultimate drop of that weapon and the most effective roll used in most content. In most situations, there are two god rolls for any gun, a roll for PvE and one for PvP. The Sacred Provenance has a decent PvE god roll, but nothing particularly groundbreaking. There are a lot of decent options on the weapon for PvP though so it may be worth a pick up there.

PvE Sacred Provenance God Roll

The best perks for the Sacred Provenance PvE God Roll are Arrowhead Brake, Appended Mag, Demolitionist, and Kinetic Tremors. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.

The following list is the best perks for the Sacred Provenance PvE God Roll in Destiny 2:

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Appended Mag
  • Column 3 Trait: Demolitionist
  • Column 4 Trait: Kinetic Tremors
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed
  • Origin Trait: Photoinhibition
  • Weapon Mod: Heavy Ammo Finder Enhancement

PvE Breakdown

Aggressive burst pulse rifles like the Sacred Provenance are decent weapon is PvE but aren’t really favored for any specific content. For our god roll, we want to make its Recoil Direction stat perfect by taking Arrowhead Brake. Also, take Appended Mag to increase the magazine size by 8, which is an extra two burst overall. Arrowhead Brake also helps the rather poor Handling stat of the weapon.

There are quite a few options to take for our traits in Column 3 and 4, and there are quite a few viable combinations. Unfortunately, there is nothing particularly unique. Taking Demolitionist can be helpful for its grenade regeneration. Kinetic Tremors is always a great choice in PvE for the extra damage it provides. These are the best overall picks, but you could also opt for a Stats for All and One for All combo as well. This weapon’s strength lies more in its versatility rather than having a great perk combination.

PvP Sacred Provenance God Roll

The best perks for the Sacred Provenance PvP God Roll are Hammer-Forged Rifling, Ricochet Rounds, Lone Wolf, and Headseeker. These provide important stats, utility, and damage for the weapon.

The following list is the best perks for the Sacred Provenance PvP God Roll in Destiny 2:

  • Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
  • Column 3 Trait: Lone Wolf
  • Column 4 Trait: Headseeker
  • Masterwork: Range
  • Origin Trait: Photoinhibition
  • Weapon Mod: Ballistics

PvP Breakdown

While the PvE rolls and options leave a little to be desired, there are quite a few great options for a PvP roll on the Sacred Provenance. It isn’t particularly game-breaking by any means but the pulse rifle can be effective in the right hands. Increasing its range with Hammer-forged Rifling and Ricochet Rounds is the play for PvP, but Arrowhead Brake isn’t a bad option either for the Recoil Direction bonus. A Range masterwork can further increase the damage falloff and accuracy of the weapon as well.

There are again quite a few options for good perks for PvP on the Sacred Provenance. The perk Lone Wolf is already making waves on other weapon types for its automatic passive bonus to stats. These increase when you are alone, making the pulse rifle feel very good in general. While you could the Time-To-Kill of the weapon by taking Kill Clip, Headseeker is also a great option for improving the pulse rifle’s overall effectiveness. Since Aggressive Burst frames fire 4 rather than 3 shots it’s a very useful perk for the Sacred Provenance. Overall, both choices for Column 4 will be effective and it will fall on you to determine what feels better.
