You can either sell the religious icon, Mityay’s family heirloom, to Pomor or give it back to Mityay in Stalker 2.
In a world as grey as the Zone in Stalker, it can be difficult to make choices that hold true to your morals and separate right from wrong. Stalker 2, however, routinely puts your morals to the test through its various quests. The Poppy Field quest, which starts off as a simple fetch quest, soon devolves into a moral dilemma. Would you selfishly sell someone’s precious family heirloom, a religious icon, for an expensive gun? That’s the question the Poppy Field quest poses to you. If you’re wondering if you should give the religious icon to Pomor or to Mityay, we have you covered with this guide.

The Poppy Field Quest
You start the Poppy Field quest by talking to Mityay in Zalissya. Mityay informs you of a lost family heirloom, a religious icon, that his family had left behind in a root cellar in the Poppy Field. His mother would often reminisce about the icon, and Mityay wishes to have it back to maintain a connection with his family. Accept his request, and the quest will be added to your log.
Head to the Poppy Field northwest of Zalissya. Here, you will be approached by Pomor, who will claim to know the root cellar’s location. In return for the cellar’s coordinates, he demands either payment or help with a task. Pay him to obtain the cellar’s coordinates. If short on funds, you can agree to do his task instead.
Pomor wants you to retrieve weapons from corpses in the field. Retrieve the weapons and head back to Pomor to receive the religious icon’s coordinates. Head to the coordinates and retrieve the religious icon. Once you do so, Pomor will make you an offer. He will ask for the heirloom and offer you a rare gun in return. You can return the religious icon to Mityay or give it to Pomor.
What Should You Do?
If you give the icon to Pomor, you will receive the Unknown Stalker’s AR416 weapon. This is a decent weapon at this point in the game, but it comes in a broken condition and requires 7000 coupons to repair. Instead, if you give the icon to Mityay, he will be grateful and will reward you with 1000 coupons.
We recommend giving it to Mityay, as it is the morally right thing to do. The heirloom holds significant value for Mityay due to its ties to his mother. Furthermore, you get 1000 coupons out of it—a good deal and a good deed all in one.
