Path of Exile is just a few days away from its early access release on Steam. While the original Path of Exile launched back in 2013 with an incredibly small cult following, over the last few years, especially with the rise of MMORPGs like Final Fantasy 14, Warframe, and Guild Wars 2, it ended up being a household name for the genre.

The original Path of Exile is similar to the classic World of Warcraft or Diablo game, and the sequel keeps that identity intact while also improving several key aspects of the original. Although Path of Exile still holds up fairly well in terms of its art style and visuals, it does look a bit dated, especially when contrasted against other modern MMORPGs.

With Path of Exile 2, developer Grinding Gear Games aims to modernize the series’ visual presentation while staying true to the original art style. However, the sequel’s vastly improved visuals come at the cost of significantly increased PC system requirements compared to the original. Here’s everything you need to know about Path of Exile 2’s PC system requirements, file size, and more.

Path of Exile 2 PC System Requirements

Compared to the original Path of Exile, the sequel boasts significantly higher system requirements. Path of Exile 2 is built on the same proprietary engine as the original, albeit with plenty of new features that bring it closer to most modern MMOs. Judging by the game’s PC specifications, it seems to be mostly GPU-bound. The recommended GPU requirement for Path Exile 2 is an RTX 2060 or RX 5600XT equivalent. It should be noted that the recommended specifications are targeting 1080p/1440p at 60fps. In terms of CPU, the recommended specifications are Intel Core i5 10500 or AMD Ryzen 5 3700X. That being said, here are the official PC system requirements for Path of Exile 2:
