Path of Exile 2 introduces players to a long list of formidable bosses. Among these bosses, Asinia the Praetor’s Consort is a challenging enemy who can be found guarding a pivotal Memorial Gate keypiece in The Graveyard during Act 1 of the game. The fight requires you to not only have quick reflexes but also possess a deep understanding of the boss’s moves and counters.

Path of Exile 2 Asinia the Praetor’s Consort Boss Guide
Asinia’s skill set is reminiscent of the Witch class in Path of Exile 2. Her attacks feature both physical damage spells and wide-area magic attacks. Asinia starts with a four-hit melee swing combo and can teleport directly onto you. If you are using a ranged character, you must stay mobile and choose the attack windows carefully. When Asinia’s health drops below 80%, she summons cyan spirits that drift toward her.
These spirits can end up empowering her if they reach her. You can prevent this by grounding the spirits, though be wary of summoning Eternal Knights if they are ground into burial tablets. Asinia’s attacks often come with callouts. These callouts serve as cues for her next move, and you need to pay attention to these to anticipate and dodge her attacks.
Special Moves and Counters
Wilt and Rot
Asinia evaporates and reappears near you, launching into a melee combo. The teleportation is instant, catching players off guard. Despite the swift teleportation, there’s a brief delay before she begins her attack, giving you a moment to react. Use this time to dodge backwards or sideways to avoid her initial strikes. This move is particularly challenging for ranged characters who must maintain distance while delivering damage.
Conquer/Insolence
When Asinia calls out “Conquer” or “Insolence,” she unleashes a shockwave in a cone shape, dealing significant physical damage. The shockwave travels outward from her position, covering a wide area. To evade this attack, it’s crucial to dodge laterally or diagonally towards her sides. Rolling backwards might not suffice, as the shockwave’s reach is extensive. Staying mobile and anticipating this move will minimize the damage taken.
Rite of the Full Moon
This is one of Asinia’s more visually telegraphed moves. She conjures a series of three ritual circles on the ground, which glow briefly before exploding. The explosions happen sequentially, covering a larger area with each subsequent circle. When you see the first circle appear, keep moving to avoid the blast. Continue moving until the second and third circles have detonated. Once all the circles have exploded, it’s safe to re-engage her in combat.
Bone Cage
One of Asinia’s more interesting and complex attacks involves trapping you in a circular bone cage and bombarding the enclosed area with homing projectiles. If you are caught inside the cage, you need to look for a small opening through which you can slip out. You can also try breaking part of the cage wall to escape. If escape is not possible for you, you need to prepare to block or mitigate the incoming projectiles to minimize damage.
Draven’s Aid
At around two-thirds health, Asinia summons Draven, the Eternal Praetor, to aid her. Draven casts a volley of 11 spirit projectiles in a wide spread. These projectiles are easier to dodge when you maintain a good distance. As a caster or ranged class, staying far from the point of impact will help you avoid this attack. Melee classes can attempt to block these projectiles using Raise Shield or similar defensive abilities. Positioning is key to avoiding Draven’s assault and staying in the fight.
Sacrificial Souls
This move sees Asinia launching flaming skulls that hone in on an area ahead. The skulls can deal tremendous damage if you’re caught in their path. Upon hearing “Sacrificial Souls,” you need to immediately move to her flank to avoid the targeted area. This manoeuvre not only keeps you safe from the incoming skulls but also provides an opportunity to counter-attack while Asinia is momentarily exposed.
