IShowSpeed recently made news after he won Streamer of the Year 2024. However, he faced a lot of controversies this year.
Popular Twitch streamer and YouTuber, IShowSpeed left everyone stunned yet excited as he won the Streamer of the Year 2024 award. In the past few years he has gained immense popularity by collaborating with various celebrities like Ronaldo and Neymar Jr.
Although IShowSpeed has a following of over 33 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, IShowSpeed has faced a number of controversies. Let’s explore five such incidents that happened in the year 2024.
IShowSpeed Investigated in New Zealand
In November 2024, IShowSpeed visited New Zealand on a visitor visa. During his tour, he live streamed content on his streaming platform. However, it is not permitted to do paid work under a visitor visa in the country. This included monetised streaming on his YouTube channel.
His public events and paid streams raised concerns among the locals. As a result, his visa compliance was officially reviewed, with potential legal action or deportation if they find violations. However, his cameraman stated that no money was paid to IShowSpeed by any New Zealand-based companies.
Jumping Over Speeding Sports Cars
In August 2024, IShowSpeed took to Instagram and uploaded a series of videos where he was seen jumping over speeding sports cars. Post the incident, he was banned from the streaming platform YouTube for two weeks.
He announced his ban on Twitter and addressed his fans regarding the same. He said,
“Hey guys, if y’all are watching this right now, I’m banned on YouTube on my main channel. I cannot stream or do anything, guys. I just wanted to let y’all know. I love y’all, bro.”
Speed jumped over two speeding sports cars; one was a Lamborghini, and the other one was a McLaren.
Before he performs the stunt, IShowSpeed says,
“Chat, do not try this at home y’all. I am a professional at this, I trained for this, and I do this a lot. So everybody relax.”
IShowSpeed’s Norway Visit
In July 2024, IShowSpeed visited Norway and faced a harrowing incident while streaming his content. While IShowSpeed was giving a tour of Norway to his viewers, he was attacked by a massive crowd of excited fans.
When Speed noticed so many fans gathering for pictures, he said,
“What is this? What the hell? No, no, no, no, I literally stepped foot in Norway for 10 seconds, bro. No. Let me enjoy Norway.”
As the crowd increased, Speed took shelter in a souvenir shop, and the guards had to block the entrance. Speed was trapped inside due to this for one hour. He later posted a tweet saying, “Never coming to f*cking Norway again.”
He had to cut his stream short, and before ending it, he said,
“I don’t think I’ll ever come here again, bro. I’m not even trolling. I love all my Norway fans, but you just generally don’t listen. I’ve been to every country and it’s been lit, turnt, crowds, but that was just inhuman.”
Controversy With Amy Flamy
IShowSpeed met Amy Famy during his visit to South Korea in May. Their chemistry was visible on streams, and the two even went on dates together. However, things did not go as planned when Speed invited her to the USA soon after.
Courtney, a hairstylist, made some comments about Amy during one of IShowSpeed’s streams. As a result, Amy ended up being upset and in tears and said that Speed might be using her for content.
IShowSpeed Joining Manchester United’s Party
In May 2024, IShowSpeed joined the party hosted to celebrate Manchester United’s FA Cup final win against Manchester City. Reportedly, Alejandro Garnacho and his brother invited Speed to join the party. The two had previously interacted with Speed on stream and were Twitch streamers.
A lot of players were upset because of Speed’s presence, as the party was meant exclusively for players and their family members. This also triggered the staff of Manchester United.
