Defeat Bosses
These are usually obtained from defeated enemies and looting containers. Firstly, you may find this gem by defeating the King in the Mists boss in Frythorn during Act 1. He is near the Hunting Grounds. Once you have, you can try your luck using other methods as well.
Kill Rare Monsters
You can hunt down rare monsters. They have a higher chance of dropping Uncut Spirit Gems as loot. You must only look out for rare monsters that have two or more modifiers. Anything below that level will only waste your time.
Rare Containers

How To Use Uncut Spirit Gems
The gem itself is not too useful. However, it is required to unlock Persistent Buff Skill Gems. Once you have got hold of the Uncut Spirit Gems that you were so desperately collecting, press the usage prompt with the inventory opened, and it will give you access to the Gemcutting menu. Now, all you need to do is select the particular Persistent Buff Skill Gem that you want.
Equip it in your skill gem slots. Open the Gem menu and activate the gem using the spell icon in the menu. This will reserve a portion of your Spirit resource (30 Spirit or more). If you add Support Gems to your Buff Gems, the Spirit cost will increase proportionately. So, manage the resource accordingly.
