Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga has shown decent progress since its inception. This installation of the manga was a big hit since it follows the events after the three-year time skip. Prior to this, Sasuke and Boruto fled the village and the latter returned with a massive boost in his abilities. However, not all characters returned, some have been sidelined.

There is one character in particular that fans are worried about and he is Shinki. He is Gaara’s adopted son in the manga series. Much like his adopted father, he too specializes in Magnet and Earth Release. These are his primary Kekkei Genkai, and his fighting style is ranged.

Shinki was a young boy when he first met Gaara. He was unable to control his Magnet Release powers. Since then Shinki has appeared in a fair number of episodes. However, that’s not the case with Boruto: Two Blue Vortex until the latest chapter.

Shinki is Gaara’s adopted son in the manga series. As mentioned earlier, Gaara first encountered Shinki when he was a child. At this point in the series, Shinki struggled quite a bit. He was unable to control his powers, which manifested mostly in the form Magnet Release. Gaara was able to relate to the child. Back in the Naruto series, Gaara also faced a similar issue. He was alone, and there was no one to help him when he lost control. He hurt the people around him, even if he didn’t want to.

Gaara sympathized with the child. Shinki attacked Gaara unknowingly. Despise sustaining injuries, Gaara embraced the child and offered to help him. This moved the struggling shinobi, and he revealed his name to the Kazekage. In response, Gaara offered to adopt him officially. Soon, Gaara became Shinki’s adoptive father and trained him. Not only did he learn to control his Magnet Release, he also became stronger and more efficient in using it.

Shinki was introduced quite early in the manga series. He was introduced in the third chapter of the manga series. Since then, he has been on numerous missions and shown his abilities at regular intervals.

Shinki’s Abilities in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

Shinki is a gifted fighter in this series. He has a great aptitude for combat, and his fight IQ is quite high. His physical abilities are stellar, showcasing a decent command over Taijutsu. However, his true power lies in his chakra control, which is a must for shinobis with ranged attacks. Long-range attacks require fine control and manipulation of chakra which allows them to engage their targets even when they are mobile.

Magnet Release, Wind Release, Earth Release, and Lightning Release are Shinki’s main Kekkei Genkais. He is also a puppeteer. His uncle laid the foundations of the fine chakra control that any puppeteer needs. Shinki also specializes in Fuinjutsu. These are sealing techniques that can contain a person for a sustained time window. Shinki almost kept up with Otsutsuki. He also managed to seal Kage-level shinobi, showcasing his mastery.

Shinki can also create a cloak of Iron Sand, which can withstand extremely powerful attacks. This can protect him and his puppets while fighting. He has great defensive and offensive capabilities with plenty of attack potency from a long range. He is a complete fighter who can take on strong opponents in the anime and manga series.

Shinki’s Status in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

As mentioned earlier, Shink was sidelined in the manga for quite some time. He didn’t receive much screen time. Currently, the Shinju has terrorized Konohagakure. They have sealed shinobis, thereby gaining a conscience and a portion of the sealed shinobi’s powers. The Shinju also gained the appearance of the very shinobi that they sealed. We got a glimpse of Shinju entity, and he had Shinki’s appearance.

This indicates that another Pseudo-Ten-Tail entity sealed Shinki. This particular entity hasn’t revealed its true powers yet. However, shinobis from Konohagakure must be prepared for Shinki’s devastating long-range attacks. Shinki’s clone could cause a ton of problems. However, Boruto and Sarada could take him on and defeat him. Boruto managed to subdue Hidari in the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga. Therefore, Shinki’s clone might not be a massive threat should someone like Boruto act quickly.

Shinki’s Role in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

Shinki has taken on the role of a minor supporting character in the series. Despite his impressive capabilities, he isn’t very important to the progression of the plot. He has been a part of pivotal fights at regular intervals.

However, it’s safe to say that Shinki isn’t crucial to the overarching story. He has been sidelined for quite some time. It was only recently that we saw a clone of Shinki. This character has been sealed somewhere, and the latest chapter revealed what happened to him in the manga.

Conclusion

Shinki is a gifted shinobi with plenty of potential. However, he did not contribute much to the overall plot. It will be interesting to see whether or not Shinki shows growth in the series. Given that he is trained by Gaara, fans can expect significant improvement in his combat abilities. However, Boruto and his comrades must neutralize the Shinju first. Following this, readers will get clarity on whether or not Shinki will be important to the overarching story explored in the manga.
