Jeremy Wang, born on November 25, 1991, in Taiwan, is 33 years old as of this writing. He completed his three-year degree in mathematics at the University of Waterloo. Before he became a streamer, Disguised Toast worked as an app developer for Mercedes Benz, the Royal Bank of Canada, Zynga, and the National Football League (NFL).

Disguised Toast started his content creation career making YouTube videos and infographics around Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, a popular collectible card game by Blizzard Entertainment. One of the Rogue cards in the game called SI:7 Agent has a voice line that goes “This guy’s toast,” which inspired the content creator to name himself Disguised Toast as a joke. He used a toast-shaped piece of cardboard with a mustache as a mask and wore sunglasses to protect his identity.

After moving on from Hearthstone, Disguised Toast moved to other strategy games like Teamfight Tactics and Legends of Runeterra. He joined Offline TV in 2017 and is still an active member. He left Twitch as part of an exclusivity deal with Facebook Gaming in 2019, but he made a return in 2021 after opting out of his contract.

Disguised Toast’s Rise in Popularity

Disguised Toast’s oldest video on YouTube is a 15-second Hearthstone clip highlighting a secret interaction in the game. After gaining over 570,000 views on his very first upload, he started posting more clips and eventually moved to longer videos where he highlighted bugs, secret interactions, and Warcraft references in the game.

In March 2017, he made it to the top 32 bracket of a Hearthstone event at PAX East, but he overslept and was disqualified. He was banned from Hearthstone for 72 hours after showcasing an exploit on stream. In a video titled “My Suspension from Hearthstone,” he expressed his concerns about the publisher controlling the type of content he puts out. He eventually quit creating Hearthstone videos but occasionally returns to the game during his Twitch streams.

Toast’s YouTube content went viral with the release of Among Us and pulled in more viewership than Hearthstone. He has over a dozen videos with over 5 million views on the platform, and his most viewed Among Us video has over 12 million views. As of December 2024, Disguised Toast has 2.8 million followers on Twitch and 3.81 million subscribers on YouTube.

Disguised Toast’s Esports Presence

Toast has participated in numerous competitive events and has also formed an esports team. During his Hearthstone content creation journey, he won the Red Bull Team Brawl: Spring event in 2017. He also won the Twitch Rivals: League of Legends Showdown in 2019 and has participated in multiple other Teamfight Tactics and Apex Legends events.

In January 2023, Disguised Toast announced that he is breaking into the esports space. He formed “Disguised,” a Valorant esports team featuring former Knights players. His team competed in the Valorant Game Changers scene in March 2023.

He quickly grew his operations and broke into multiple competitive esports scenes of popular titles. As of December 2024, Disguised Esports (DSG) has competed in Valorant, League of Legends, Apex Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and Tekken 8. Shortly after breaking into esports, he won Esports Personality of the Year at the Esports Awards in 2023.
