Starting your journey in Abiotic Factor might be intimidating. With a wide array of crafting options and the possibility of being assaulted by a plethora of threats, this game will seldom give you any chance to catch a break.
If you have successfully entered the Facility through the Cafeteria and are feeling flabbergasted, we are here for you. With Carbuncles and Exors plaguing your surroundings, a gun would be quite helpful.
In this guide, we’ll discuss how to get your hands on a gun in the early game.
How To Get a Gun in Abiotic Factor
If you are already inside the Facility, chances are you have made your first Crafting Bench to make the Energy Brick to power the door. Do not leave the Crafting Bench behind. Carry it with you into the Facility. Find a suitable Power Outlet inside the Facility to set up your base.
First, you need to unlock the Keypad Hacker. After that, you’ll be able to open the door of the Security Checkpoint in the Office Sector on Level 2.
Head to the Reception area armed with the Keypad Hacker. From there, turn left and continue down the corridor. You’ll see a sign pointing to the Security Office. During this time, you’ll see a dilapidated forklift and a sparking wire next to it.
The door to the Security Office will be locked. Walk up to the keypad and use the Keypad Hacker to open it. After that, take the stairs to your left and find another locked door. Use the Keypad Hacker here as well to enter a firing range.
Here, you’ll find a Security Pistol and boxes of 9mm Ammo. After taking them, go to the cage to the left of the firing area. You’ll find a tunnel here. Continue through the tunnel till the end. You’ll eventually reach a locker room full of backpacks. Additionally, this is a useful shortcut to the Security Office.
The Security Office and the firing range zone are rich in loot. They are filled with tech supplies and have two Water Coolers.
Unfortunately, 9mm Ammo cannot be crafted in the game. Additionally, your main sources of finding ammo are the following:
- By taking out Order Soldiers and looting them.
- In Portal areas, e.g., Train, Rise, and Hydroplant.
