Often, you’ll want to maintain a distance from your foes, in which case, using long-range weaponry is best. However, there are instances where you need to get up close and personal with your enemies. In these circumstances, you need to rely on powerful melee weapons. Some modified melee weapons increase their base damage through elemental damage, such as electricity.
The Lightning Spear in Abiotic Factor is one such weapon, but even better. You can use it to stab at enemies in close range or even throw it at your foes for some midrange damage. In this guide, we’ll explore how you can get and use it.
How To Get the Lightning Spear in Abiotic Factor
You can acquire this weapon through crafting only. For that, you need to learn its recipe. The following are the materials you’ll need to craft the spear.
- 2x Rebar
- 1x Projection Matrix
- 1x Energy Brick
- 1x Capacitor
You can get your hands on some Rebar by breaking down Mine Crates and Manufacturing Wood Crates. The Projection Matrix is a craftable item, which you can make by mixing an Optic Lens, Anteverse Gem, Liquid Crystal, and Stapler. You can also craft the Energy Brick by combining a Power Supply Unit, Circuit Board, Tech Scrap, and Case Fan. Lastly, you can get your hands on some Capacitors by taking down Electro-Pests or Power Leeches (during a Rolling Blackout event). Once you have all of the materials, proceed to a crafting bench to make the Lightning Spear.

How To Use the Lightning Spear in Abiotic Factor
The Lightning Spear will emit electricity when you attack with it. Every such attack will deplete the Spear’s associated battery levels. Once the entire battery depletes, the spear will stop emitting the electricity during attacks. However, you can still keep using it against enemies as a normal spear. Keep in mind that the Lightning Spear uses the battery charge regardless of whether your attacks hit enemies or they simply hit a surface. Like all spears, you can throw it at foes to damage them.
