Water is a valuable resource in Abiotic Factor. Let us discuss how to obtain water, its uses, and sources.

If co-op survival crafting games are what you are seeking, look no further than Abiotic Factor. You and up to five other scientists can indulge in this underground adventure, which requires fending off evil forces while prevailing through various resources. While you entangle yourselves in such endeavors, staying hydrated is key. There is more than one way of obtaining water.
In this guide, we will discuss how to obtain water in Abiotic Factor. Moreover, we will discuss the usage of water in the game and advanced water technologies.
Getting Water in Abiotic Factor

Basic Sources
The following are the basic ways you can obtain water in Abiotic Factor:
- Sinks: This is your best bet for getting water during the early game. However, the refill time is quite slow. It is a good method for the first hour or two.
- Water Coolers: These will provide you with large amounts of water. However, if you do not refill them manually, the supply will eventually run out.
- Tainted Water: Fountains, pools, and other questionable sources will give you water. However, you need to treat and purify them. Otherwise, be ready to throw up.
Purifying Contaminated Water

You must boil the water to purify it. For this purpose, you need a Cooking Pot to hold the water, a Portable Stove for heat, and a Power Source to power the Stove.
You can store the resulting drinkable water in Water Coolers, thus refilling them.
Advanced Water Technology

After reaching the Cascade Laboratories Sector, unlock the following:
- Water Filter Barrel: Using Refined Carbon, you will be able to treat 10,000 mL of tainted water instantly into drinkable water.
- Moisture Teleporter: This runs a slow process of collecting water into nearby containers. However, using a standalone unit will not yield much. Deploy multiple Moisture Teleporters to obtain a good amount of water.
Tips To Maximize Water Output
- The setup: Set up your water treatment facility near a contaminated water body, such as a pool. Multiple Portable Stoves and Water Coolers will do the trick.
- Transporting Water: You can collect huge amounts of water if you haul Water Coolers filled with water on a trolley.
- Impromptu Gear: You can craft Cooking Pots from two Staplers and three Metal Scraps. Since Abiotic Factor is a survival game, you will eventually face resource scarcity. Crafting is your best friend during such dire times.
Besides drinking, water is valuable for Washing, Cooking, and Plant Care.
