Co-op survival titles send you on an extensive chase to collect resources for crafting. Abiotic Factor follows suit, as you start your scavenging and scientific journey in an underground facility.

As you eat, sleep, defecate, and tend to your injuries, you face some serious adversaries along the way.

Adversaries of all shapes and sizes will attack you, ranging from a jumping Pest to a grimly cloaked Reaper. The latter is susceptible to Laser damage. Laser, like many other resources in the game, must be discovered and used after crafting suitable items to harness its power.

Lasers in Abiotic Factor are orange beams that travel in a straight line. Reapers and Security Bots are weak against Laser attacks. Lasers can be converted to and from Power. Moreover, they power Laser-based weapons.

In this article, we will present a complete Laser guide in Abiotic Factor.

Laser Devices

  • Laser Prism: This takes a single beam of Laser as the input and provides three weaker beams as output. This is essentially a Laser Plug Strip.
  • Laser Power Converter: This device converts Laser energy into Power. You will find some rogue Laser beams in the game, e.g., the one in the Office Sector.
  • Laser Reflector: This device will redirect a Laser beam.
  • Laser Collector: This is essentially a Laser battery. It takes a Laser beam as input and stores Laser energy to power Laser-based devices and weapons.

Setting up Lasers

There is a catch in the game. Environmental rogue Laser sources despawn when you move far away from them. As a result, they can only be used when you are close, i.e., for powering traps.

To set up a Laser beam, you will need to connect a Laser Emitter to a Power Outlet. This is the most reliable Laser source in the game.

If you are looking for a Laser beam during the night, i.e., when the Power is out, place an Industrial Battery or a Makeshift Battery between the Power Outlet and the Laser Emitter.

Laser-Based Weapons

  • Energy Pistol
  • Deatomizer
  • Laser Katana
  • Laser Grenade (non-rechargeable)
